Yes, it's in Surrey. I drove out there a few years ago to go riding with some friends, and it had been shut down. From what I hear, they are having dirt drags on the weekends, but are not officially opening it to bikes and ATVs. I would like to know if it is open again myself, because I understand it was a great place to ride.

my next door neibor says he races his CR80 there every other weekend. he said they close the riding part for a while because someone got killed out there.... but he said they just opened it not to long ago..but he dosent know if it is still open. so when you were there did they have like camping areas and stuff? i was kinda looking for a place to have a VA TF :D

I'm not sure if they had camping areas. I went there in 2001, and the owner was turning trucks away, saying he was closed. He took down everyone's email addresses and promised to contact them when he re-opened, but I never heard anything. I might have to take a ride out there one saturday and check him out.

Ok, I took a little drive today out to Surry County to visit Slade's Park. When I pulled up there was a big sign saying "NO TRAIL RIDING." I drove up on to the property a little bit, and saw about 10 or 12 RVs set up, but no bikes, ATVs or Jeeps in sight. There really wasn't anyone out there to talk to, but I can't imagine all of those RVs being parked out there if there if there is no event to attract campers. It certainly didn't look like they were enjoying the wilderness. Anyhow, there was most definitely no riding going on this Sunday afternoon, so I guess we can conclude that it is indeed closed to trail riding. I have heard rumor, however, that they do sponsor dirt drags on weekends in the summer.

Hey guys, I'd be interested in a Va TF, and maybe my buddy Chris and I can put something together. I don't have enough land to host such an event. I will be getting my small track done soon. It will be a flat track on the outside and some jumps and a mud bog on the inside of the flat track. I am waiting on the soybeans to be harvested and working on getting some fill dirt to make berms on the turns and jumps and trying to get a backhoe to dig out the mud bogs.

Sounds good Mark. I have been looking for a bigger area to ride lately, and haven't come up with much. I know there is a state forest in NC, and there is some area up in the Blue Ridge mountains, but nothing too close to Tidewater. I will keep my eyes open....And let me know if you find a 200X locally, I am looking for one for the wife.

Man I sold a 200x about 9 months ago. I am rebuilding that 250r of mine right now and the lower end bearings and shift shaft are costing me a fortune! I am getting a 2000 Kawasaki 220 Bayou 4 wheeler for $300 for my wife to ride. She likes the auto clutch and reverse and 4 wheels. This 86 250r of mine is a real money pit! LOL You wouldn't happen to have any 250r bottom end parts laying around. I had a spare 250r motor that had a great bottom end and sold it and now I wish I hadn't sold it! My stupidity.

Sorry man, I don't have any engine parts, haven't been into mine...yet. I'm still trying to get my suspension the way I want it. I think my rear shock is worn out, because the 250R sags a lot in the rear compared to the 350X, and is a lot softer. I have 2 other shocks, so I think I will try swapping springs around this weekend. I also have a set of forks I need to rebuild. I agree, they are money pits, but man they're fast.

Both of my 250rs sit higher than my 350x, especially the 86 it sits about 4 inches higher than my 85. The 350x is a relative low rider compared to the R's, and the rear shock is good (I have 2 separate shocks for the 350x). Yeah both of my R's will spank the 350x all the way on take off, and top speed, by alot. My 400ex is quicker than the 350x, but it has less top speed than the 350x. I really like all my ATVs for different reasons, but the R's are great for just flat out hauling trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro. The 400ex is the cadillac of all the ones that I own and the 350x is good all around.

That's interesting about the ride height on your bikes. I must have a worn out spring on the 250R, because the 350X sits high when I sit on it, and the suspension is firm. My 250R kind of sags when I sit on it, and it feels really soft. I had a chance to ride with a couple guys on 400EXs a few weeks ago, and we swapped rides. The 400EX beat my 350 all the way around, I was a little disappointed, but I'm hoping its because my 350X is 100% stock, and the 400EX was somewhat modified.
The 250R, on the other hand, is absolutely insane. I haven't taken it out in the woods yet, but when I ride it around the neighborhood it scares me sometimes. Yesterday I took a turn in 3rd gear and gassed it, and the tires spun...on pavement! It is just way too fast, and it will be twice as awesome once I get the suspension dialed in. Hope to ride soon!!

My 350x is stock except for a DG exhaust and my 400ex has a DG Krome with supertrapp spark arrestor with 16 tooth front sprocket, jet kit, and hot ignition. That 400ex is strong on the acceleration, but after the 350x goes into 6th gear it'll catch and pass the 400ex. If I had the stock sprocket it'd take off even faster. Oh, by the way the 350x is running 20 inch rear Kenda Knarleys and they are an awesome tire, and are 2 in shorter than stock, but make it handle better. That might be why my 350x is lower than the 250rs. I need to get you to ride with me and my buddy Chris on his dad's land. He has a Tri-z and his bro has a beater 350x that spent most of it's life on Carova Beach, so it's rusty. Maybe one of these upcoming Sundays or Saturdays when I get back to VB from Northern VA (I am working on new Fiber optic to the home project for my employer Verizon). Yeah and on the 250r shock, you can get a good TRX or aftermarket TRX rear shock for a decent price on Ebay. :beer

Hows it going? Still haven't gotten around to that 350x I got from you. I got another 250r (86) and having been focused on rebuilding that motor and doing the frame and swingarm (sand blasting and painting). It has most of my attention at the moment. How much you have got left on the 200x w/200s motor?
Heres my current project.

hey Mark, let me know when you finish the 350x, I'd like to see it. I traded the 200s motor for a good running 125m, I moved onto Bells RD. and needed a good runing bike for all the trails behind my house. So I'm looking for a good 200s motor again. Talk to ya later

Hey I would be interested in a TF in Va, I am located about 30 min south of Richmond. Do any of you guys know where an 83-86 250r is? I have been trying to find a beater 250r to trade my nice 200x for. It seems like most of the open trails around VA are old firelanes or poewrlines. Not too good considering I ride with some two stroker guys.

Man, that 350x had way too many problems in the motor, it needed a new right side case, as that one was cracked and the cam was broken. Looking for a good motor to go in it and do a frame up restoration. I had to part with that busted ass motor, and got $250 for it in pieces. I still have the rolling chasis of a 350x that needs new plastic, donor engine and some decent rear tires. It will live again. I am having my 86 250r frame and swingarm sandblasted right now, and my buddy is redoing the bottom and topend on the motor so that I can get it running to sell. It will bring some $$$$$.
I spent today with the kids and pulling a sled with one of my quads and eating up all the snow with my 400ex. I couldn't bear to get the 250r or 350x dirty and let them sit up all night until my hose is thawed enough to use. It was fun as he!!! :w00t:

Hey guys,
I was heading up Dam Neck road, up by the Farmer's Market today, and I saw a bunch of guys unloading quads over where that old combine sat for years. I guess that land is getting ready to be developed. Does anyone in the beach area ride there, or know if anyone objects to it?

Hey Paul,
Me and my buddies were ridding off of Dam Neck about a year ago. There are some trails and an old oval track back there. When we were there, the farmer came out on an ATV with a shot gun. He asked us if he could ride in our back yard. We ended up talking to him for about twenty minutes. He ended up being a real nice guy. He's just sick of people tearing up his crops. So we promised him we wouldn't come back and he ended up ridding with us for about half an hour. We asked if they were developing the land and he said no they were just putting in drainage pipes.

Oh and it has new 300ex rear caliper (same as 350x, just 6 months old), new sprocket and chain. New front steering stem bearings. New Maier super scoops. New Maier front fender. It has brand new front master cylinder off 300ex. It has aftermarket rear bumper, and all lights work. Oil is changed every 3 months and it may get ridden 2 times in a month. It has aftermarket new DG Krome exhaust. It has case saver and new throttle, clutch and decompression cables. It has new Uni Filter. Bearings in swngarm and axle carrier ar good. The tank has a couple of minor dents. It starts first or 2nd kick!

It is in pieces, and the otor is all there it just needs to be rebuilt. It needs new valves and cam, I think. It is a 350x. I have almost the whole thing, it was going to be a project. It wouldn't take too much to have a good runner. It has the exhaust, brakes, seat, gas tank, front fender, newer maier scoops. It needs motor reassembled and rebuilt, a rear fender, coil, stator and tail light. It has the Head light and it is in decent shape. It doesn't run, and I am running out of room for projects. Let me Know if you want a good project!

Well, I can help you get a new manual for the resto project. The service manuals are still in production. You could also just buy all but the motor and get a motor off Ebay for $300 or less. I bet you could get the missing parts and get it running for less than $900 total, including buying the bike minus motor from me.

I have a complete 350x motor that is apart (top end) that goes with this three wheeler. I am not sure of the condition, to be completely honest. I could see it with the motor or not, it would be cheaper without the motor. $250 w/o motor or $400 with it. It is in pieces, The frame and tripples and forks with handlebars and all frame parts are together. The swingarm is with the axle. It needs new rear axle bearings. The shock is still connected, and in great shape. I have the front rim, hub and axle all together with a front tire that needs replaced. The rear tires are in fair shape, but the rims are good. Yes you could come by and see it sometime. I am in Pungo part of Va Beach towards North Carolina border. I am around most weekends.

This looks like a good old post to dig up...LOL
Whats up guys, My names Steve, I just registered yesterday and am looking for some fellow 3 wheeler enthusiests in the area. :Bounce
I currently only own a quad...I know I know...LOL But am in the process of hopefully getting a 250R. I'll find out tonight.
If some of you guys want a place to ride my father-in-law has about 30 acres behind his house in which we have started making trails as of last year. My brother-in law has a little 110 3 wheeler that he plays around on....lol
There is also alot of farm land accross the street in which we have gotten permission to ride, as long as we stay out of the crops....just picture a 3 X 1.5 mile circle track with lots of smaller trails and trails leading to an area by the powerlines where there are some pretty decend size jumps built up. Its in chesapeake.
If any of you are interested maybe we could have a weekend gathering or something and ride for the day. LMK
I am also looking for project trike, so if anyof you know of one running or not LMK. I saw one of you had a rolling chassis, but looks as if it may have been sold.
I only have internet access during the week and have tomorrow off, so I'll check back Monday and see if anyone is interested. Talk to you all later!! :beer

Hi Steve,
Good to know there is another 3 wheeler enthusiast in the area, I think that brings us up to 4 or 5 from this site anyway. I try to ride as much as I can, but ever since Slade's Park closed down, I have been working on and riding street bikes a little more. I'm always up for a ride though, shoot me an email or PM anytime.
