My nephew has straightened the forks on his 85 R twice now and they keep going crooked. How do you do this properly? He must be doing it wrong.

I would say if your triples are not bent then just pic up a used set of forks from ebay, what is his method of fixing them?

They are prob bent. He is prob repositioning them, then he hits some bumps or wheelies hard a few times and they move on him. My SX did that. Only option is to buy new fork tubes. I could loosen the tripple tree clamps on mine and put a wrench on the top of the fork tubes and turn the fork tube. No joke I could get a inch more clearance between the fork leg and tire by doing this. But as soon as I made a decent jump. Bam, they were back to the way they were.

I know how to keep them strait, stop hitting stuff :D !

Really though, if they have been a few times then just replace them. After each time they have been straitened they are not as strong as before. I had checked around to get the forks on my street bike straitened and was told that doing it once was fine but if they had to be straitened again then it would be questionable.
