Holy ****, where are you finding deals like that mate? If thats for real 900 Aus dollars, includes shipping and the trike is in decent shape I would jump on that in a second!

If you allow $500aud for shipping , that means you are paying $300us for the trike. Too good to be true. Be real careful.

Pops from South Australia has one,and one of atcMatts mates has one in NSW. (hell one or two ones in that last sentence!). I went to ship out from England a rear diff assy for a 200 es by boat and it would have cost me 320.00 pounds in freight and import duty! In the end I brought it of atcMatt ( thanks young Matt!!!!!!!) Send a email to Greenhuman and ask him for he use to import trikes all the time. :beer

Ned PLJ. posted this back in 2003, it may pay to drop him a email and ask him how he went? :beer Overseas Shipping?? International transactions??

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Has anyone here had any dealings with overseas shipping of a bike?? I had a bike listed on ebay and this gentleman purchased it with a "buy it now" He already paypalled a deposit and sounds very serious. I have never shipped a bike out of the country before, and honestly do not know what to expect!! I would like to make it happen for him but what carrier or freight company deals in these transactions??? Any info. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds exactly like all the spam e-mail I get. I wouldnt go for it unless you have a way to protect the money. Scams are getting smarter and more realistic each day.

Do this, hehe.

Tell him to get his camera, and a piece of paper. On the peice of paper, tell him to write your username and www.3wheelerworld.com underneath of it. Have him take a picture of the paper with that on it sitting on the 350X, and then send it to you. Atleast then you can feel safe :p

Is the person a member of the forum here? I will "check them out" for you if you want, PM me their username.

My girlfriends uncle owns an import company at dover so i will get it shipped off to you in a crate, so it will be coming to you with a huge shipment of maybe quads? furniture? cars? computers? it iwll be with anything, and then when it get to AUZ it will be shipped with one of your package carriers, maybe ups or dhl?

i havent no pictures
But heres what it looks like -

No offense to actphil or psatv which I believe is also him, as he may be an upstanding person to deal with, but he's got 4 posts to his name, and one post under the other name, and all of them are in the classifieds. His email account is through hotmail. Basically what Im saying is that he popped up on here to buy and sell, and nobody knows who he is, or has dealt with him. Couple that with an overseas deal with shipping costs too good to be true, and I wouldnt touch this deal with a ten foot pole! Yes, its tempting, but if I was going to scam somebody, Id make it tempting too. Maybe he's a great guy, but how lucky do you feel, and how much do you want to risk?
The only way Id even consider a deal like this is by going through an escrow service, which is a 3rd party escrow company that basically holds the money until the deal is satisfactory. Western Union? Dont even think about it! Paypal? Well, Id see just exactly what Paypal is willing to guarentee before counting on that. Usually Paypal can freeze a persons account, and refund you from their account, IF THERE IS MONEY IN IT. If the person immediately takes the money out, before you ever report a problem, they can only give you whats in there. Good luck with law enforcement on issues if international dealings.
Again, sorry, Phil if you are legit, but I wouldnt expect anybody to send me that much money from overseas even with the fact that I have a reputation on this site.

tell him to send it cod, that way you are covered, he HAS to pay the shipping, and all carriers do COD... just my thoughts

actually I can give you food for though. he said it will cost teh same to ship to aus as to the usa. 130 pounds is just about $250 us dollar's if I'm not mistaken' I went myself to find out about shipping cost over sea's the lowest price I could find was $1200 us. also for shipping crate size is a issue and he said he has to remove teh fork and that's it. that isn't true because width is the biggest issuse and having rear axle and wheel's on it too big for most shipper's

TrikerR
11-26-2004, 02:09 PM
but what still makes me think its legit is the fact that hes trying to sell here instead of ebay, i mean look at the difference of people who would veiw it on here compared to ebay.

I couldn't have said it better. I would use a escrow service, and even at that I would look for one that been around for a while. Need help finding one? I am sure one of the Long time repuatable members here on the site can find you one.

Quickonstep
11-26-2004, 02:19 PM
yup, youve got a entire board full of people who would do that for you, im sure the admins would help out for a small fee, the big escrow services do cost a little bit..

Just another thought ;)

20 days by ship from England? Been there and done that. Thats way too quick. A direct shipment by boat from the U.S west coast to Aus east coast is 21 days and this is a far shorter distance. Sounds like he is rushing you to make a decision also. I would not touch this for anything. Let me see if I can find one here in Aus for you.
