well im goin to the scrap yard tommrow to look at dirt bikes, pertiularly 2 stroke 125's anywaer from 1980 up to like 1990 prolly, just wondring if anyone had any imput on any good 125's that might have been made durin that time frame that i might look out for :p?

Look for one with a good powervalve set up. I used to wrench a buddies 85 I think. I know in the mid to late 80's the powervalve changed a lot. Sorry I don't have anything better for you. Maybe someone else knows the exact year they got better. My buddies had that generic powervalve that ran outside of the cylinder. I'd recomend something newer than that.

I believe it was in the 86-88 range where the powervalves were updated. if you get a 86-88 Suzuki rm 125, i believe you would be satisfied, even though they are way less powerful than the 250's, they are fun rides! the yamaha yz's were good back in the late 80's also.

I think that they have good suspension.

i know that my bike ( 1992 suzuki rm 250) has a suspension thats like butter!

thanks for teh info guys, i went and looked today i almost walked away with an 82 yamaha XT250 but then the guy said he had someone from out of town comin to look at it tommrow so i said ok im a nice guy i understand :p then there was this i belive it was a 78-79 yz125 but it needed a stator and they didnt have one and they where disc from yamaha, but i also heard that the old yz 125s whent that relaable so i just kinda waited on that, also there was a old yeller Rm100 that i looked at also but it had been cobed up bad lol, no compression, head and base nuts where loose, and hears the real kicker i unscrewed the oil filler cap and found the nut to hold the clutch basket on LOL, so i said umm no, there wasnt a whole lot of bikes for the picin back there so the guy is gona call me when they get somethin good in, btw i had to trade my atc90 and my CT90 parts basket to get a bike, just waitin now :), there was also a tri-z back there that needed some love but it was out of my price range :( so ill keep ya updated if i get a bike :D

yea i would love to have the Tri-Z but its rough, i think he said it has a new top end but still needs some things, i should phone and see :) who ever had it trailprotrailpro the scrap yard basicly COobed the sucker togeather :(

EDIT: just phoned the guy about the tri-z he wants 1000$ for it, he has fallen off his rocker i think lol, from what i gather it dosnt have any spark, the comp is good 140psi but the rest of the bike is just beat lol, like i can get a nice runner for 1500$ :p
