Do you think it would be possible to put a 200X motor from like an 86 into a trx 250X chassis? I think that would be cool to make a TRX 200X. I know you would have to make custom mounting brackets and for the exhaust i think you would have to reroute it. If i had both the chassis and the motor i would try it. Do you think you would have to use the 200X wireing harness or could you use the 250X harness? :Bounce

It's possible but the results aren't too good.

Y would the resutls be not to good? Im sure it would be alittle sluggish but the 250X/300EX chassis is pretty light. And for a small person around 150 i think it would be jsut fine.

Oh it would be fun but for the money you'll invest in it, I just don't see it being worth it. You'd have a lot of $ tied into it to do it right and you'll have less power.

How would you suggest more power? If it were my bike and i were building it it would have a cam and higher compression and an exhaust along with gearing changes.

Now your adding even more money to the job to catch up to what you had.

Honda actually made the very same quad you are talking about - the TRX200X. It was only sold overseas and it was made in Mexico. It's actually just an '87 ATC200X frame complete with the downtube with a TRX250X front end welded on.

On top of that you would be losing reverse, and that is something you need on a quad.

As far as being a light chassis it is still heavier than a 200x chassis. So your not going to gain anything. Most people do motor switches to gain power or add options they didn't have. But it's your money waste it as you like.
