I just bought a 1983 250r last saturday and I noticed when I was sanding the fenders that the seat is a 1985/86 because of the writing of "250r" on the side. Anyways the guy who had it previously had drilled holes the in 83 fenders to accomadate the new style seat. The seat doesnt have long enough threads on the bolts to go through the fenders so I cant put on a washer and nut to hold em in place.
Either I buy/trade for a 83 seat
or... buy 85/86 plastics, will they fit a 83 frame? will I have to drill?
anyone in Canada have a 83 seat I can buy/trade my 1985/86 seat for?
any advice on what to do?

I'm installing later model fenders. Had to graph two seats together to fit the stock tank properly. Then redo the mount pads and latch. Fairly extensive to do.
Then spent some time finishing the seat, molded the foam and attached the material. Too much fun................................ :naughty:
Here's a couple of pic's;

I'm pretty sure the seat from HONDA is discontinued. I got a 83-84R seat pan here. A couple of the studs need to be repaired. Go to www.hi-flite.com and buy yourself replacement foam and cover and it'll look brand new! I just got in a nice balck desert safety seat to put on my 82R from them!
