nope, thats the one. I hate to break it to ya, guys, but without the original bodywork, it aint worth no 4 grand. Put it to ya this way, I had no idea that the original plastic was JUNK... Im glad I didnt go look at it, I would have been EXTREMLEY dissapointed. Mine is 10 times nicer than that one. but I need that radiator scoop.

I just thought of something else, too. I was wondering what common plastic could be used to preserve my original. Now HE used 84-85 tecate, and I know why, cause its flat underneath, and bolts to the frame. pretty clever. Im going to see if 230 quadsport WHITE rear fenders could possibly be used because they bolt up in the same way........hmmmm mabey there is hope for all those tigers out there with no rear fenders, now to find a radiator scoop! I guess something positive did come out of this.

I just can't trust someone that says the plastic is bad because it got old.

When these freaks and hicks and other people see what those Tiger's went for, they all come out of the wood work. I think we will see a lot more in the near future. Everyone has no care for a 3 wheeler just wants to make money. I am slightly that way, but selling mine because I can't get it apart to fix the bearings.

Amazing, that makes this one about the 100th Tiger from New York. You guys get all the luck.
That's what I was just thinking. New York = Tiger ATV Heaven!
When he decided to go green Kawi plastic, he should have used 86/87 KXT plastic. It's pretty flat along the bottom too and the front fender looks 100% better. And I hate that Maier low profile rear plastic. Tecate-4 rear fender would have been cool too. Sadly, I think Maier only offers the Tecate-4 Fender in green even though there were allot of white '88 KXFs sold.
The fiberglass fenders appear used to me. Look closely at the motor. looks pretty clean and no wear marks. Then on the other hand the frame around it looks pretty rough. I'd love to have one, but definitely not worth $4000 + $600 shipping to me.

What I can't get over is how he mentioned that it had been ridden only one tank of gas since new. Ok, that's not very much, so how did the paint on the right hand side frame get rubbed off? By your 3 year old boy sitting on it and pretending? Give me a break. And Holic was right, the plastics look like crap. I guess that 4 gallons of gas was hard on the bike!
Lies are not cool, especially if everyone with a little common sense knows you are full of buffalo puckey.

its very unfortunate that this Tiger frenzy is gettin out of hand. At this rate, its just gonna be bad for the hobby. Tigers are neat, but they are certainly garage queens, at best. They are really not a useable toy to have, not to mention the body parts are absolutley not available. I was able to find an original front fender, thanks to HRC200X, and the owner sold it to me (havent got it yet) but that is a one in a million shot, and I doubt I will ever find a radiator scoop. NY was HUGE in ice racing and flat track back in the day, and I think alot of Tigers were sold for that purpose. There is a lake down the road from me, that has Ice racing every sunday, un-officially, but back in the '80's it was pretty well run, with a huge turnout.

are the tiger fenders fiberglass? I think i read that somewhere. If they are then new ones could be made easy. just use a good one to make a mold. or fiberglass can be repaired.

Yes they are fiberglass along with the gas tank I believe. If you read the test of the Tiger 500 on 3ww it has some of the accessories you could get for a Tiger and they were lighting kits, air box and handle bar mounted gas tank. They also said that one tiger can differ from the next because as soon as they came up with a better design they'd change immediatly. Maybe thats why there is that one picture of the handlebar mounted radiator and all of the rest have them infront of the riders leg. The guy who won the auction for the 3 Tigers said they are all liquid cooled, even though the 125 has air cooling fins its still liquid, thats the first time I've ever seen that.

Hmm, If I had a tiger, I would definently ride it. New york was the eastern hotbed for trike racing, and many of the tigers built were (some still are) around this area.
That looks kinda stupid, I would pay a couple hundred bucks for it. 4k though? what a joke.

i dont understand where this guy comes up with 600 bucks to ship. obviously he hasnt heard of forward air. i shipped a crated lt500 from florida to kansas for 220 bucks.
:( I am sorry that you all have negative comments for the Tiger on Ebay. As all you Tiger lovers know, the machine was not powder coated, it was commercially sprayed and when the elements hit the paint for 18+ years in an outside shed, it is bound to breakdown and I don't need a masters in physics to figure that out. Further, the one time it was ridden by my neighbor that won it in a raffle at an ice race here in "HICKVILLE" USA as some choose to call our area, the machine was flipped over backwards so, hence, the rear plastic was damages. Call me all the names you can think of but I have my intergrity and I am not a first time owner of ATV's. My last machine was a 2001 LoneStar Honda 250R that costs in excess of $16,000 and have raced for over 12 years on quads. Three wheelers are in a different clawss all their own and that is why I decided to sell it. The way I look at it is this-if you are interested then bid-if not, don't but before you start mud slinging on a situation you have no clue about, maybe you should question the seller rather go at it blind!

rubble908:
I don't think any of us were really mud slinging, but rather discussing. And frankly, this is a discussion web board, so therefore... Perhaps a better explanation on the auction page would fill the voids of the add which we were commenting about. Either way, I am 100% positive that nobody on this board is trying to hinder the sale of your 3 wheeler or bash you personally. Heck, right now you have 1 more Tiger 3 wheeler than 99.2% of us on here, therefore the majority of us are envious! I hope you are able to get what you want out of the trike. Best of luck to you.

I still think it's funny that you lsit your machine after the other one's go for a lot of money. I'm glad that those machines can still be found though.
This is the first time that I attempted to sell anything of this magnitude on Ebay and I appreciate your response and guidance to me on future auctions. I only posted what I thought would help a buyer make an informed decision, however, I was apparently not as thorough as I should have been. Hind sight is a wonderful thing but emails would have been welcome asking further questions about the machine. I too hope that the machine will bring joy to its next owner if he rides it or stores it!
I surfed the web for information on the machine and found a limited supply of ready information. It is not a money thing but I have no use for it and hope that someone else may. Dirtbikes and quads are my cup of tea and 3 is an odd number (HAHA)!

Anyone know how much time/money it would take to make new ones? I'm intrested because I've got a possible lead on a Tiger 500.
