sprockets are going to be delivered tomorrow from Dk, yes thats the atc that ran threw trinitys dyno, and yes the FMF pipe and power core silencer are new, the guy put it on infront of us with my tools out at glamis on turkey day LOL, it was our neighbors at glamis i asked if he wanted to sell he said sure and then held it for me till i sold my air-cooled to get it. it threw out 44 on the trintiy dyno at the max with respectable bottom end, the carb however wasnt rebuilt at the same time they just changed main jets and ran with it so my metering jetts are shot and the needle is worn down alot

Local Senator. Does not like riding.
Not just a local senator, she's a semi-powerful pain in the butt Democrat senator that is totally anti-offroad and if she and her tree-hugging Democrat cronies have their way, every square inch of public land that is now open for riding would be closed to everything but lizards, turtles and foot traffic.

RideRed, Nice bike by the way!

A-camp and Mr. Sandman are right on the money about Boxer (Diane Fienstiene, not sure how you spell it, is just as bad). They are terrible for the California offroad community. It is a shame of how many riding areas they and their kind have shut down. It makes me sick. It is just another reason to join an organization like the AMA, etc. They fight for our rights to ride and have helped prolonged the two-stroke. What sucks is that what happens in California (for example a possible two-stroke ban) sometimes trickles down to the rest of us in the U.S., however every state has their share of offroad haters. Some worse than others.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but, what is the 2-stroke ban all about anyway? Is it a production ban or are they talking about making it illegal to use existing two stroke bikes that you already own?

Yeah, RideRed I didn't mean to high jack your thread, I just disagree with offroad and two-stroke haters. IF and when a two-stroke ban goes into effect, we will still be able to ride them. They are not going to come a Knockin' and taking everything. It will be just like three-wheelers, no longer made, but still legal to ride. The question I have is "IF" they do ban manufactures from importing or building two-strokes in the U.S., will companys like ESR still be able to make cylinders after the ban? Here is the good news. The latest info I have heard was that the AMA, manufacturers, etc. have worked out with the EPA, government, or whatever, to keep building and importing two-strokes for as long as the market will support it (could be forever). The catch is supposedly, on January 1st, 2006, model year 06 and later two-stroke machines like the CR250R dirtbike will be illegal to ride on public land like Glamis. Anything 05 and older will be legal. The only place a 06 or newer CR250R will be legal will be in closed course competition only, in other words motocross tracks and if you are lucky, private land. I read this in all the dirtbike mags and the monthly AMA Magazine that I get OVER A YEAR AGO, so I do not know if this is still accurate. If it is then we as two-stroke trike owners have nothing to fear. I just want to know the latest on this information since I ride CR250R's and 500R's and if a ban does happen, will it effect parts availability and companies that make new two-stroke cylinders, etc. I guess we wil know soon enough. Has anybody heard the latest? I am sorry again RideRed, you got a goodlooking R and it deserves better than this.

the twostroke band would cause NO quads (banshee0 with a two stroke motor to be imported to california, u can still get a twostroke dirtbke but would only be able to ride on a track and would be limited time and hours of use. it really sucks but owell! u could still ride trailprotrailpro atc250R unless they take it farther(rumored that they will)

Agreed RideRed, this should be a seperate thread in itself but the question was asked.

In CA when we register our bikes, trikes, quads, sleds, buggies, and anything else strictly used off road we get what's called a green sticker. It's basically a license plate that is good for two years and costs about $25. To legally ride on public lands you must have one or risk fines for riding without it. The funds from the green sticker fees are supposed to be used to build new riding areas and improve existing ones. There are millions of dollars generated from it every year (since the 70's) but when the state was in a budget crunch guess where the gov't. borrowed money from? Yep, the green sticker funds. After many lawwsuits our money was returned but it we lost a lot of it.

Fast forward to the 90's and the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) in trying to cut back smog goes after 2 stroke off road vehicles as gross polluters. Eventually a deal was made that after 200? two strokes are no longer eligible for a green sticker. Now they get a red sticker which restricts their use to a riding season Sept-April or May. The deal also spelled the eventual demise of 2 strokes in CA with the new sales of them ending in 2006.

It's kind of like the consent decree that killed off 3 wheelers; you can still own and ride them, but you can't buy a new one. Will this affect the rest of the country? eventually and unfortunatley it might, or select states that have a smog problem. It's all BS, but that's how the gov't works.

So like Apollo said, join the AMA or ATVA or any other organization that supports us as they are big proponents for our sport. And, don't forget to vote and make your voice heard, especially when an anti-offroad person is running for election.

I also want to clarify that my facts may not be 100% correct on the 2 stroke ban, but I am pretty close.

Thanks for the info guys. Typical stuff though. Sounds like 2-strokes are the current token gesture buy the politicians to make the uneducated believe they care about the environment. Like they have any real impact at all. That's laughable.

Ok, back on topic.

Are those OEM plastics or aftermarket? There's something different looking about that trike but I can't quite put my finger on it.
