Well I went to Long Island newyork today and picked up another YTM225dx. The trip was crazy long (marylnd to NY yikes) and the weather was horrible. Mikefromlongisland (a guy here on the board) is a great guy and the 225 was in really nice shape for a project. I got there ok and loaded up and chit chatted for a while and started to make my way home again.
The weather cleared up and i thought every thing was going to be great when low and behold i looked at my rearview and the gas tank covers where trying to come off so i pulle dover to get everything resituated. THen oh crap!!!! The seat was missing. It had to have flown off going down the road and who knows where it could be. SO i was obviously pissed....so i yelled and cursed all the way down the road.
Just as i was pullin gback into my home town i had an epiffany!!! My buddy has a Yamaha Moto4 carcass that has the seat still on it! Maybe just maybe i tw ould fit the tri-moto. So i ran over there...full of hope, and low and behold! It fit perfectly!!!
I was so releived and my trip turned out fine after all.!
Anyone else have any interested trike pickup trips?

man went to michigan to pick up a 85r,well a 6 hour drive turned into a 12 hour drive.on the way up a fatal accident had rt. 23 shut down, sat there for 4 hours.finally back on the road and get lost in this getto neighborhood, another 20 min. wasted, finally get the trike, and head home.on the way home we were behind a pull behind camper and it came un hooked, sparks were everywhere, and as we drove by i noticed the two propane tanks smashed betwen the truck and camper, thats when i thought to myself what a stupid design that is.well 1hr. down the road we noticed black smoke poarin across the highway,it was a tow motor on fire in a pallet yard, what the hell, what a day, seemed the best day of my life was not so good to others, thats my story and i'm stickin to it!!!

i watched a couple of 12 year olds go about trying to screw up every trike, quad, snowmobile on the auction lot today at http://www.snowmobileauction.com/ . man,,, i wanted to shake them up + slap their parents soooo bad. a 88 suzuki 250 quad had the pull rope broken + jammed the gears so bad it wouldn't shift anymore due to the kids. i watched a adult start it right up with 1 pull a hour earlier.
anyway ,,, best part was when yamaha225dx walked up to me and said hi.
he had flown in from his small ranch in south dakota ( 10k acres ) visiting a sick family member. he took some time to come down to bronson, mi. to check out the quads + trikes ( got a good deal on a quad for the ranch to take back with him ) . we hung together off and on for about 3 hours till the tecate i was watching sold ( 600 bucks - 86 modle and decent too ).
great seeing him again !

Hell of a story man, and with a happy ending too, awesome.
Two weeks ago I was on my way to OH with the family, all our luggage, a street bike, and an ATC110 in the bed of the truck. We were somewhere in WV on the turnpike when a semi blasted his horn at me a few times. I glanced back in the bed quickly, and everything seemed alright, so I waved and kept driving, figuring he was a three wheeler fan........
250 miles later, while gassing up in central KY, I happened to glance back , and noticed I had a broken tail light. Further inspection revealed that I was missing one large suitcase, and the tie down strap that had it secured in the bed as well.
Seems my tie down strap had come loose on one end, launching the suitcase off the tailgate at 75mph, and was probably dangling from the other end for a few miles, whacking my truck every now and then. I felt like such a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro, especially since I had done such a thorough (I thought) job of packing.
As it turns out, that suitcase contained all of the children's clothes, most of which were brand new from Christmas, including 2 sets of brand new kids riding gear. Needless to say we had to buy all new clothes for the kids in OH the next morning.
A week later, on the way back through WV, I was driving myself crazy scanning the opposite side of the highway for our suitcase, when my girlfriend insisted that I ask the turnpike toolbooth collector if he had seen it. Amazingly, he had, and all I had to do was back track 12 miles to the turnpike control building (paying the toll 2 more times in the process) and pick it up. The suitcase was unscathed except for a little roadrash, and I don't have to shell out $200 for more kids riding gear.

90nut ,,, no junkers to speak of ( like last months - 250bigred for 250ish that i didn't attend to going - what was that like if you seen it ??? ).
i think i will post when i am able to go there in the open forums just so we all know there's other board members present so we can get together + not beat each other up on bids . and yes ,,, a couple of very nice atc70's ,,,
i'm sure you will see the prices in the auction reports ,,, very affordable.
great story paul :) !!!

Picking up my 82 R, driving home and then the gas tank flew off lol. It was the wrong tank (its plastic). Good thing I was admiring the unit at the time so I saw it happen. Thats all I got but im sure more are to come.

John, If I remember right the big red in december wasn't to bad looking at all. The plastic wasn't even all that bad. I was kickin myself all the way home for not buying the 70 that was there. The thing was cherry and it went for 250. I stopped there since I was like, I just sold my bike up here today and I can afford it but I could really use the money to start swappin the engine in my ranger but I stopped at 250. I should have bought it. let me know if you are going next month and I might be able to hook up with you up there. It's about and hour and a half away from me.

Back in 85 or 86 I had a buddy that lost his brand new tri z from the back of his truck doing 65mph. He said he looked in the rearview and saw it bouncing and flipping on the freeway.

We seem to make the worst mistakes when we get in a hurry. A couple of months ago I bought 2 110's, as I was trying to get them to fit in my mini p/u with shell, I put the fender of one behind the truck seat, eased the seat back and...CRACK! Damn Honda made it 25 friggin years until I came along, had it for about 90 seconds at that point!! Those are the worst!!!! It instantly put me back 10 years ago when I put a winshield in my '68 Chevelle. Had it all done no problem when I see a little air gap down in the corner, passenger side, actually would've been under the trim, I just HAD to push down on it.......TINKK! The next 5 years, I would curse myself every time I got in the thing. There it was, a little crack across the corner ... DOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
