Does the '84 200es have mechanical weak spots?

I can't find the oil filter..does it even have one? lol!

Only part missing that I want new and can't find is an exhaust header with heat sheild...that part fit alot of atc's suprised they're so scarce.

if anyone can help me...

No oil filter.. just a metal mesh screen on the oil drain screw.

Decals can be found on e-bay sometimes.

Tremclad silver is pretty darn close, as long as you paint all rims and the forks with the same stuff, they will all match and i can't imagine anyone walking up to your trike going " Hey dude... that silver is the wrong shade, you $uck ! ".. LOL..

Check the lower frame for rust and holes.. mine had to be welded up with extra support behind the motor mounts under the driveshaft.... and the foot brakes are prone to taking a chunk of frame with them on a good wipeout !

Hey Guys,
Am new to the forum and am looking for information, workshop manuals etc (in electronic format if possible!) on an 1982 Honda ATC 200 ES "Big Red".

Any other advice will be appreciated!! :beer

I use Duplicolor Silver Wheel paint. Looks great. Very near original color. Harlan Lysne can take care of your decal needs. Makes duplicates of the originals. Look perfect. I used his decals on my 87 BigRed Resto and 85 350X. Great prices too. You can contact him @ hjlysne@charter.net tell him Clay sent you. :beer

Well I e.mailed Harlan we'll see what he says..thanks...checked the frame and it's real solid/good...whew..should really do that sort of stuff before I lay out the $1200..thought I was losing it on the oil filter thing...lmao!..ordered the Ohtsu tires today...http://www.ohtsutires.com/atv-tire-pages/pa501.html... now just have the oem exhaust header, decals, a little paint and a seized fork to overcome and I'm restored as far as I'm concerned.

The exact spray match to honda rims, motors etc. is Plasti-Kote #1519 silver, it matches perfectly, the black to use is dupli-color gloss black engine enamel #DE1634.
