I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with this trike. I have a chance to get one for a good price but i haven't heard anything about it except for a friend telling me that the rear end is bad in them. Anyone else have this problem or any others?
Thanks

The only reason the rears fail is due to lack of maintenance and neglect.
If water gets in there or the fluid gets sand/grit in it and it's not changed....of course it'll fail. No fault of Honda design.
They are nice trikes.
Not rockets but VERY capable of hauling you around at an enjoyable pace.
The electric start is SWEEET (kick start back-up is good insurance, too.).
Reverse is just plain awesome. You get spoiled REAL quick with that!
The automatic clutch is nice after riding a manual all the time.
Overall, a good all-around machine.
Mine is my wife's trike.
She likes all the "creature comforts".

I havent had any probs with my three '85 SXs. The drum seal went in one, and normal carb buildup, but thats expected after so many years. They are awesome trikes. If you can get one for a good price go for it. GOOD LUCK!

Yep.. awsome trikes..
personal favorite.
Check the condition of the bearings.. there are 5 in the rear end alone.. and more in the swing arm. costly to replace the whole thing, but if taken care of they last a long time.
Check the front forks for tire marks.. if someone put a fairly wide tire on it, it may have grooves in the forks. a small amout of wear is ok, but be aware if they are badly worn !!!
Check the reverse cable and choke cables condition, reverse ROCKS !!! Ask about the battery.. old, new.. missing ????
All in all.. best trike out there for cruisers.
