how loud is the cobra megaphone pipe kit?

Was wondering how loud is the cobra megaphone pipe kit and anyone have one installed?
Anyone have the quiet series installed also?
Are the headpipes larger than stock for better flow.
Just wondering because I seriously need an exhaust system for my trike.
Its all rusted, full of holes and gnarly.

Is it an annoying loud? I want to keep the peace for the farm next to me.

You can hear it from 100yds away with no problem. Its loud, but not obnoxiously loud in my book. I had a supertrap on my XR500R. It had to be the loudest dang thing I have ever herd. Deep but loud. I could ride down the street with it and nail it, and it would set off car alarms. My Cobra on my BigRed wont do that. LOL

maybe i will spend the extra 20 bucks for the quiet series pipe. it has spark arrestor also.

my friend has a megaphone on his 200X and i heard him screamin down the tracks, which is about 75+ yards away from my house..

Just picked up a 350x with a cobra meg. 2 words, DAMN LOUD! I hate it and i feel bad for my neighbors. And thats rare. It is Way louder than the dg excellerator exhaust on my other 350x, even with new packing, so i'm gonna either put a supertrapp end on it or switch it to somethin else.

So is the DG megaphone quieter? Last post I saw that a member had to bang dents in it to clear part of the motor on a 185. Not impressed with that kind of fit.

The system i have on mine is the excelletator series, full sys. It has defuser disks like a supertrapp on the end, and it's not cheap. Fortunatly it was there when i acquired the bike. A dg meg wont be any quieter, as all megs are the pretty much the same. I think cobra is owned by dg, or vise versa, a rumour i herd a while back. I am not a big fan of dg myself and would have preferred a supertrapp, but they use the stock headpipe, and my sys does not. But this particular system i can't complain about a bit. It fit's good and is tunable. I'm waiting to see how long the chrome holds out. You might want to try ebay for a stock pipe for your bike. What bike do you have anyways?

Now.. here is a weird question.

My neighbor owns a sheet metal fabrication shop ( duct work mainly. ) but he has and can weld stainless, alum, etc...... has anyone ever made their own 4 stroke pipe before ? is this an option?

Thats what i'd do. It's not a hi-po bike on the first place and the performance from the ear shattering pipe would be negligible. Or hit ebay, prob pretty cheap on there.

i agree with crack shot id go for the jardine stalker.. i was goin to untill i found the 200x for 150 and im debating on which to get...my frinds 200x has a dg krome system on his..its loud but not annoyingly loud..( in my book a straight pipe is annoyingly loud) i know ive had one on my 185..could here if from over a mile away during the summer..his 200x i can hear from about 1/2 mile away but from there i can barely here it
