Did you torque the mounts properly?

mine has'nt done that, but i have noticed lots of small cracks in the paint all over the welds throughout the frame, keep an eye out for the footpeg holes, they crack and break/strip at the wrong time (jumping)!!

I didnt "torque them to specs" Well i torqued them to my specs, tight! I also did make some thicker mounts and that didnt work, maybe i'll go thicker. the original mounts were aluminum but those were cracked most of the way when i purchased it.

Maybe something wrong with the counterbalancer?

my zilla has never broken any mounts but.. the guy i got it from said it was breakign the bolts in the front mount though. so hwe bought some 12.9 grade bolts for it... seems fine now..

A friend of mine has ha the same problem with his, he made a nice set of thicker steel ones. They seem to be holding up fine.

sounds like the counter balancer is out of time. mine is an 88 with the stock aluminum mounts and they never cracked.

whats the clutch basket look like??? zillas are nutorious for bad baskets... mine has a bad basket right now and it vibrates like a paint shaker... plus it's tough to shift... as for the balancer being out of time... that could be the case but only if it was taken apart... it's a gear-gear driven so it's not gonna jump time...
