I'm putting together my 200x motor and was wondering how much I should tighten the bolts that go through the clutch springs. My manual doesn't give any torque specs, just some poundage BS, how the fudge am I supposed to measure that?
Thanks

ttt mean to the top.
Also forgot to say that these are 10 mm bolts and they aren't just bolts in the motor, they put tension on the clutch springs so I'm not sure that the normal torque settings would apply.

I see, Sorry I didn'
t catch what you were talking about till I went back and re-read it. My honda shop manual says to torque them to 22-29 ft lbs

The 83-85 official Honda shop manual? I didn't see anything in mine about that. What page?
Thanks

1-5
It is in the general torque specs area, but that is what I would torque them down to, if it was something special then i a m sure that they would have put them in there.

22-29 lbs? These are the small bolts that go through the springs of the clutch? By 10mm bolt Im assuming you mean a 10mm head, not a 10mm bolt, right? I dont know the torque specs, as Ive never torqued them, but Id say 29 lbs will twist them right off. They would use standard torque settings because they are not adjusting spring tension with them. You are snugging them until they stop. about 6-8 lbs sounds right to me, but like I said, I dont know what the actual specs are.

I'm really not sure that standard torque values go for these bolts too, but I'll try it and see how it looks. Does anyone else know for sure?

the clymers manual didn't say anything about torque values either.
what it says is to tighten down securely the four bolts in a criss cross fashion,,,in 2 - 3 steps. that is what i done to the 85 i done a couple of years ago and it was okay for me.
