Anyone ever change the front sprocket on a 1983 Honda 200E?

Any tricks and anything I should know before I dig into the case.

Thanks
Pete

Good'ol high-low.

Gonna have to remove a few things to get to it, same with the M.

If it was only the chain, i'd tell you to hook up the old one to the new one and thread it thru.. but since you got to replace the sproket.. it's a bit different..

If you have a manual.. you're good to go.

if you don't.. check " www.partsfish.com " they have diagrams of eeverything in there and might be helpful.

and i know this goes without saying, but be gentle with those case bolts... spray them down a few times with good lubricant,, PB Blaster seems popular on here.. and let it soak.. find a good set of metric tools, don't use standard equivalents..

When you take your bolts out, place them in a way so you'll know which ones go where when you reassemble. If you pay attention when you get into the subtranny, you shouldn't have too much problem getting it back together. If you do,repost and someone will be able to walk you through it.

I'm nervice about taking the leftside spacer cover off, lots of stuff to remember to get back together again. Motor is still on chassis, would like to keep it that way.
I have the Honda Service Manaul on CD its not the best.

Thanks did get some additional diagrams.

if you got the manual on CD you're all set.

Try to put things together the same day you take it apart.. have all the parts and tools you need, this way it's fresh.

wayting a few days can be a bad thing !!!.. trust me !!

If your worried about remembering where stuff goes, either draw yourself notes or get a digital camera .It's not as hard as you think.
