Check out denniskirk.com, I think they had a white plastic Mair tank for an 83.

Ebay has them for the 83-85. I'd write to them and ask if they have them for the 86. The mounting must be different between them I'm sure.

83-85's have one hole mount and the 86-87's have two hole.

you can make a 83-85 plastic tank work on a 86 without problems, you need a torch(to heat and bend the mounting bracket) and screw a piece of metal on the bent bracket and drill two holes. It took me under a hour to do so. Also you need to remove the tabs on the down tube. I have since took it off( I found a good 86 tank)

You say it works but does it fit right?
The seat looks bent too much & it looks like it is sitting a bit high on the frame and maybe back too far.

my seat pan does that with the correct tank also, but not as bad. the tank does sit a bit further back than the stock tank. I mistakenly bought a 83-85 tank and tryied to make use of it. If somebody took some more effert than I did, it can fit better.
