Alright...I spent awhile trying to find some good touch up paint. Obviously if your trike needs a whole new frame painting then go for it. Most of us just need to fill in some nicks and chips.
2 members asked me about touch up paint so I am putting this thread up. The paints used were bought at Pep Boys. I am sure other Auto Parts stores will have similar. The red color in the pics below is Plasti Kote Auto Touch Up Paint - Color code Nissian 3131.
The first picture is next to a section with the original color. As you can see its very hard to tell the difference.
Another alternative is Passion Red touch up paint from Honda. My dealer was able to order some.
Also Pro Clean Plastic Polish is the best stuff I have ever found. It is 1000 times better than Armor All and does not attract dust. This stuff freak'in sinks into the plastic.
Amazing stuff....very much worth the 7 bucks per bottle.
Lastly...yes I know I need a manicure. These trikes are destroying my nails!! :naughty: :naughty:

I have found Plasti-Kote engine paint in # 206 Ford red to be a pretty good match for doing the red frames and such. It holds up really well too.

Just got back from Pep Boys. They didn't have that plastic polish but they did have Mothers plastic polish so I picked that up. Pretty small bottle for seven bucks though. Hope it works pretty damn good for that price.
Also picked up a few grades of wet/dry sandpaper, Mothers aluminum polish and both colors of touch up paint you recommended. Some before and after pics will be coming in the next few days. :beer

Great...now I hope the touch up paint matches good. Just do a small section and see. Remember everyone's paint could have a slightly different shade. The paint I found is really really really close. If you see a difference then your paint may be faded.
Good luck!

I KNOW my paint is faded. lol
It's not gonna match but it should look better than all the little dark chips though. Up close my frame looks like crap. A lot of it is just oil/dirt/grime that I can't quite reach but there's also plenty of fading and chipping going on. That's why it's getting the powder coat treatment this summer (I hope). If the touch up paint just makes it a little less noticable until then, I'd be happy with that.

Thanks Darius, I will be going to Pep Boys too. My frame is faded a little bit and looks like Dammit's. I definetly want to paint my clutch and mag cover to go with my new cases.

I think its the same....but guys remember that Honda sells the Passion Red touch up paint thats the factory color.
Its costs $2.99 a bottle. Its the best as compared to stock. The pep boys color I put up there is very very close. One week later I can't tell where I touched it up.

Here's the results. The red isn't a match thanks to the fading. You can see the spots next to the worn off part on the frame. The part of the frame by the peg was lacking so much paint that I just caked it on the whole part. Looks a hell of a lot better than it did but there's no escaping the need to get the whole frame done. There's quite a few spots that are just plain rough looking. Soon though!
Haven't tried the gray yet. My new Starks case saver should be here any day now so I'll experiment with the stock one soon. Maybe I can fix that crack with some jb weld.

not too bad. Looks like I remember mine looking. Funny thing...see that area where its worn by the riders boot....
I caked that whole area with paint. As long as your are careful it does dry pretty even. Not as good as powder but for 3 bucks what do you want??!!
Let's see more pics man!!

Any ideas if some one out there makes a frame gaurd that will fit the portion of the frame where your boot rubs? :wondering

Not much to see right now. Here's a couple more though.

I was planning on trying a simple clear vinyl sticker once I get the frame completely repainted/powder coated.

I used skid tape. It looks really good and works really well, for a while. It is a pain in the ass to remove when it wears out. I have been looking for something like what they make for the quads. Although I like your idea.
