Whats the difference between a B8es and a B6es. My yt125 three wheeler seemed to start a lot better with the B8es on a cold day. The dealer said B6es is for my machine. Yamaha part # says champion N9YC0-00-00. Also which NGK plug matches the champion, and is the b8es a hotter plug than a b6es.

the lower the number the hotter the plug, a"r" in the number means there is a resistor in it

Tne lower the number, the hotter the plug for NGK. Champion is the opposite. The differences between the two plugs take affect after your machine is running, so they will not affect how easily it starts. I dont recogize the Champion plug you mentioned, but a B8ES is an N3C, so a B6ES would be about an N5C. Are you sure B6ES is correct? Most stock Plugs are somewhere between B7ES and B9ES.

The plug will affect how it starts. A colder plug will be harder to start. Usually this isnt noticable but it is sometimes.

The plug will affect how it starts. A colder plug will be harder to start. Usually this isnt noticable but it is sometimes.You won't notice a difference because it's the same voltage and same spark. Heat ranges don't refer to anything that would affect starting.

The plug is more efficient at that range rather than one that is optimised for a hotter temp. Therefore it would work better.

It makes no difference for starting, it's the exact same spark.

anybody had any kind of performance gain from a certain plug type? (tapered elctrode, iridium, platinum,......)
