help on 200x

I just got my 200x on sunday and it didnt run when i got it. I cleaned the carb the best i could (it was full of dried out and gummed up gas) and put it back on the bike, hooked up the gas tank and gas just poured out of the overflow on the carb. What could cause this? could the float be sticking? did i not clean it good enough? Also, i am trying to get the stock decals for my gas tank but the local dealer said they are discontinued, so we looked in another catalog and some other company has some that look the same but they are different sizes. Could someone who has an 85' 200x please measure the decal and let me know the size? Thanks

I got my decals on ebay from watvs. He usually has them on there. They are thicker than the originals but the same size. I got them for around $7.50 or so. I think they look OK. I would check your carb again. Sounds to me like the float but it could be anything. The smallest amount of dirt in there can mess it all up. Hoped I helped some.

It is your float sticking or a dirty needle valve. One or the other. My 350X did that when I got it. It was the needle valve. A ok now. :beer
