I'd like to get all the FLA guys (And anyone else interested) together for one quick weekend before Trikefest to talk about trying to carpool all up together to Haspin this summer. I figure we can hold it here at my house, no gate fees, insurance, titles or any of that crap. 160 acres to ride on with an adjoiining 100 or so to ride on. Woods, creeks, fields. Plenty of room to camp and ride. Lets get some dates figured out.

Well it's about time. Me and my buddy Sam (Samster143) have been planing to head up to Croom before it starts to get hot again. We are planing to head up within the next month. We can make it a Florida road trip.

Lets work on some dates, sometime between now and Trikefest. You guys want to do it one weekend sometime next month, or do we need a little bit more planning time?
LonesomeTriZ
02-23-2005, 02:24 PM
Like I said I am good in mid march. If there are any other riders that live near me around Tampa They are welcome to ride up there with me. We have to meet up as soon as possible so we can have time to make the necassary arrangments so that we may work togther to get to Trike Fest. By the way, I have a crew cab with a powerstroke that will be back on the road soon. So if some one needs help hauling, let me know. :Bounce

02-23-2005, 02:38 PM
Well the weekend of the 21st is my dads Birthday, so we can't do it then. That leaves the 12-13th and the 26th-27th.
LonesomeTriZ
02-23-2005, 02:39 PM
I am okay with either of those dates. Any body else?

02-23-2005, 07:14 PM
I may come Billy. The 26-27 is good for me. The rest of march is junk for me. :beer

02-23-2005, 07:34 PM
26-27th sounds good to me so far, but I might have another bowling tournament then, I dont know for sure but I will by this weekend. Mike, Sam, and Curtis hows that work for you guys?

Count me IN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t:
I would be good for the weekend of the 26th. For what its worth ,I'm tied up all other weekends.
Just let me know on the decided date. My wife and I for sure, but whatever heads up I can get because I need to mix the mud with the in-laws (babysitters) :D for some toddler watching.

Bring them along. I'll bring my 12 week old.
Billy Golightly
02-23-2005, 10:13 PM
Ok, so we gonna figure on the 26-27th then? I'm located a few miles outside of Live Oak, FL which should pull up without any problems on mapquest. If your looking on a real map, look where Insterstate 75 and I10 cross each other, its just a little north and west of there.

If I can get my hands on a camper, I'll bring the 4 month old. They can have drooling contests. :p

SWEET :TrikesOwn :w00t:
We'll call it the 26th then.
Just in case I am asked, what about a quad if my buddy and his wife wanna tag along? They have (quads) golf carts.
Just so I know what to tell him if he asks.
Peace :beer
Billy Golightly
02-23-2005, 11:06 PM
Yup, quads are no problem (I might even be on my trx250r most of the weekend, I hope not but you never know). All I ask is that anyone who rides have a helmet and wear it. We are a long ways from a hospital and I dont want to see anyone having a helicopter ride if its avoidable :P I'm attatching a few pictures of my 200X on my "Extreme" trail I have down in the creek infront of our house. This trail is hell on trikes, Its gotten kind of grown up but I've been re-clearing it. This about the most extreme part around here, there is definetly some tamer places but this is what is the funnest (To me anyways).

One more thing, I just want to make clear to everyone that the date is not set for certain yet, because I dont know what my bowling tournament schedule is, but I can give you guys the go ahead for sure by this Saturday night :-) I dont believe it will be any problem but I just want to make double sure.

LonesomeTriZ
02-23-2005, 11:13 PM
Sounds good, now when do the stripper show up? :wondering
Billy Golightly
02-23-2005, 11:21 PM
I've been wanting to do something like this for a long time, and I finally convinced my folks to let us have one here, so I think it will work out good. I'm a good cook on the grill so maybe in the evenings I can cook all us a roast and some Brat's (Maybe even steaks? :naughty: )
LonesomeTriZ
02-23-2005, 11:24 PM
If that is the case let us know what we should bring. Assign specific item we should be responsible for. You should not have to carry any of the burdens. :beer
Billy Golightly
02-23-2005, 11:45 PM
Well you guys bring whatever you want to eat and I'll cook it! (Within reason, no whole hogs on my grill haha). We'll probably need some eating utensiles or whatever, If someone wants to bring drinks, snacks, ect. We are a long ways away from just about everything (Walmart is about a 15 minute drive, gas is about the same distance), so make sure you got all the supplies you need.
LonesomeTriZ
02-23-2005, 11:54 PM
Okay, so who wants to bring what? I do not drink so I can bring some non alcholic drinks. What esle is there?
wheelie king
02-24-2005, 08:43 PM
I say since drinks can be sensitive to each person, it is strictly BYOB "bring your own bottle"- unless anyone objects.
I will definitely bring my mini grill and plenty of charcoal, which I am game to let anyone use from grilling steak at night to warming coffee or toast in the morning.....after me, of course :D
I also plan to bring plenty of your average BBQ grill fodder- burgers, dogs, brats, etc. Also utensils, plates, stc. I usually over prepare for this kinda stuff, so I'll have me and my camp covered, as well as plenty for anyone who wants to mooch.
Once we set the date in stone, we can narrow it down on the food thing if ya'll want. Untill then..... :beer :beer

That weekend would be good. I have the Broward county airboat show the 19th and 20th. I will bring the strippers,(but keep them to myself). What kind of terrain is there to ride. I want jumps and race tracks and places I can tear it up. But no deep mud. How far are you from Croom, because sam and I are going to go to Croom the same time. Are there any hotels around??

Open pasture, woods/trails. No real jumps or a track. No mud unless you go look for it (Unless it rains). Cloest hotels are at I10, 15 minute or so drive from my house, same are as walmart and the gas stations. Theres a new holiday in express, econo lodge, and a best western right there. I'm pretty darn far from Crooms, couple hours drive atleast. I'm gonna guess around 3 hours or so.

well I guess it will be Croom for Mike and myself. We live in Ft.Lauderdale so I-10 is a real hike for us. Croom is about half the distance and from what I hear a real nice spot. It seems like a nice central location for people throught Florida. What do you say??? Hotels and camping right there.
LonesomeTriZ

Fees, permits, and titles are also required. Not to mention to enormouse crowd that migrates that way. Too many people and too many problems are tied to that place.
Billy Golightly
02-28-2005, 01:58 PM
When I went and did the CR500/250R trade with atczack, we talked a little about crooms and he said pretty much the samething as Louis. The title thing alone is enough to keep me away because of how much crap is involved in trying to get one.
Mike Fort Laud
03-02-2005, 09:44 PM
Last time I went to Croom 1 of the 2 rangers in the whole place gave me a paper and said to write down my frame number and pay for a pro rated annual pass. It cost about $10. I never even put the sticker I bought on my bike. We rode all day and got a hotel room that night. You can even camp there if you want. BUT THE PLACE IS A GREAT PLACE TO RIDE...........IT IS A MOTORCYCLE PARK. plus there are other people there so you can check out all the other bikes. It is over 4000 acres to ride. We feel that if we are going to make a road trip that we want to go some place that can entertain us all weekend.
LonesomeTriZ
03-02-2005, 09:54 PM
You are one of very few people I have ever heard say something good about Crooms. Every one I know would rather ride in a cow pasture than go to Crooms.
Billy Golightly
03-02-2005, 09:57 PM
Mike I dont know when the last time you were there was, but I know in 01 I believe it was they did some major changes and re-worked the way the place operates. I would make a few phone calls before you drive all the way up there and then have problems. My 2 cents.

I have found that the only serious riders that go to Croom are the riders that do not have any place else to ride.

You guys still maybe interested in doing this? Lets try and get another date setup thats not a holiday :p

April 23rd should be good on my end.
Guess I gotta get the atc running by then. Quit on me this week for no reason?????. Sounds like its starving for fuel. Now it will not start without being pulled behind a quad for about 100yards, then it dies. Oh well.
All that aside, I'll check with my boss- aka the wife- and see what we got going. Until then...... :beer :TrikesOwn

Yes, it is a go. I might be absent a few hours Saturday morning (From like 10:30 till 1:00 and thats not even a positive) But other then that its on! I'm going to try and mow a little bit around the camping spot tomorrow and take some pictures for you guys to see what its like.

I will be there Billy. Let me know if you need help around your property. I can come out this weekend and help you. Oh yeah guy's Croom is retarded. Only go there if you like 2,600 acres of 'whoops'. I have been there about half-a-dozen time's and every time I ask myself, "Why the hell did I drive 2 hour's from home to not be able to take my bike out of second gear because of all the damn whoop's?!!" As of June '04 you have to have a title/registration for whatever vehicle you plan on taking in the gate. You do see some sick ride's there sometime's though. You can camp there. You can only run your bike's from sunup to sundown. No night riding. No noise like radio's and stuff after 10 P.M. There is a Holiday Inn right next door. There is a Subway down the road from there at the gas station. And a little MX shop next door if you can catch it open. My overall rating of Croom on a 1-10 scale is about a 6. Just my .02 cent's.

03-24-2005, 09:04 PM
Hey Zack,
Yeah man if you want to, that would be cool. No one has said anything to me here about Easter dinner with family or anything so I'm gonna assume there isn't anything planned :wondering I have bowling league Saturday morning from 11:00 till 1:00, I could meet you in town somewheres when I'm done and you could follow me out if you want. Theres really not a whole lot to be done other then we can work on cleaning up a few old trails and around the campsite area. Let me know.

I will be available on Sunday for sure though. I am also taking my registration for my truck to work tomorrow. If we happen to be in Lake City I will get new sticker's and then I can start driving old 'Betsy Lou' again! I'll talk at you later.

Zack was just here this afternoon a couple hours ago. We chainsawed and macheted out one old trail that is a pretty cool hill climb. And then another small one that just has some water washouts, kind of fun to ride on. Most of the time we rode :p Still hella wet here from all the rain. I'll let zack weigh in on it but I think if we can get a couple guys out here for the FLA trikefest it'll be pretty cool.
LonesomeTriZ
03-26-2005, 08:05 PM
I'm good to go. If it all possible I plan to bring a few freinds who also share a love of trikes. if any one lives near the Tampa bay area or has to pass it let me know. Maybe we can ride together. I have a twenty foot car trailer so come on.

I'm sure you guy's will have fun at Billy's house. I went there for the first time this past weekend and met his Mom and Dad and we did some pretty good riding. His parent's are cool. I was hoping they would adopt me but they didn't. His property is amazing. From wood's to open field's to marshes and the occasional mud pit. The camp site looked pretty neat. We rode down to the Suwanee river and there's one pretty good up hill that I got caught up on a log about 3/4 of the way up and thought I was gonna have to let the 400EX go for a tumble down the hill!! lol Any riding is good riding, and for private land this is pretty good. It's ten time's more fun than Croom. I'm just hoping to get the 200x going so I can ride something beside's my quad.

Billy Golightly
03-29-2005, 08:18 PM
Glad you had a good time zack :beer With any luck by the end of next month the water table will be down and it wont be such a mudfest like it was for us. I'm going to try and cut out some more trails and clear some more stuff up. I'd like to get like a little mini harscramble course setup, that would be cool. I think you guys will like that hillclimb zack was talking about. There is tree that has fell over it, and you have to kind of go under it. The tree would be an awesome place to sit and take pictures or video from. For those of you that are coming, I figure I will probably try and meet you guys somewhere and leed you in. The best place would probably be at the Penn Oil truck stop on exit 283 off of I10. If your coming north to get to me, get on I75 and get on it and go till you get to the 10/75 interchange. Go west on I-10 for a few miles till you get to exit 283 which will be Highway 129/Boys Ranch road. Thats probably the best thing since our place is pretty far out (Ask Zack! :D) Looking forward to having this happen.

Well we have a small ice machine here, but it is broke as of now. I can probably cover ice without any problems. I'm not much of a cook at anything unless it is on the grill, but if someone wants to bring some Bratwursts, hotdogs, or hamburgers I can cook those up without any problem.
I guess the question to ask is, what time is everyone planning on getting here and leaving? And how many people are coming with you? That will be a good start to figuring out food and what to bring.

Alright, so lets figure on this for meals. Saturday Lunch, Saturday dinner, Sunday Breakfast, Sunday lunch? Thats about 4 meals. Figure on feeding 10-15 people right? We can either split it up and assign a meal to a person or just have everyone bring a little something like chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, bolgna, bread, bacon, ect. Bratwurst make awesome breakfast sausages too. I've got a gas grill and also a single burner gas cooker for a skillet and what not to cook eggs and bacon in. I dont mind covering some of the stuff at all, because it will probably be a pain for you guys heading up here to stop at a store somewheres and get stuff on the trip up.

Hey Billy, I was gonna go to Sam's Club in Gainesville later this week anyway. If you want I can pick up some of those huge pack's of hotdog's and bun's. They have Nathan's hotdog's there in bulk. I could buy the bun's the day before the get together to insure freshness. What do you think? I haven't cooked a dog over a camp fire in a while.

What I can bring (as far as food goes) is depending on what I am going to drive up there, and who will be with me. I thinks someone bringing the dogs and buns like Zack siad is great.
I can bring a bunch of burgers and buns (20+) . That'll be dogs and burgers one night- lets say saturday.
I say that for drinks, since that can be more particular, it's BYOB- bring your own beverages. :beer :beer
Brats are also a good alternative and great for breakfast. I am not a breakfast eater myself.

Man, we are not going to take your tent. I would not impose on you like that. I appreciate the offer, but I think we will be good to go with the gear we have. I was more concerned about the enviroment. I will not take him on trials with me but I wanted to make sure him and his mother will be able to hang back and still enjoy the activities. We also plan to take turns enjoying the trails.

Hahah well ok, its here if you want it. I think if you guys switch back and fourth and take turns riding it will probably be ok. I've got a couple three-wheeler related videos I'd like of like for everyone to watch while they are here. One is from TF last year, and the other one is some pretty cool hill climbing footage I think everyone will like. I'm about 10 miles north/northwest of it. If you guys are coming east on 10 you can probably get off at that same exit I mentioned before, 283 and I can meet you guys there and lead you the rest of the way.
No problem at all on the other guy. Just bring your helmets and wear them when your riding. If your going to drink I would prefer you do it in the evening not when we're riding. Long ass ways to a hospital and I dont want to get my truck all bloody hahaha. That goes for everyone, those are the only things I'm really concerned about. I dont want anyone getting hurt or messed up.
You GA and other surrounding state guys are more then welcome to come on out too. I'd love for us all to get together and get a big ass Southern representation planned for trikefest.

Oh yeah, I dont ride my trikes after I have been drinking, I can just see that as the begining of a bad thing... East on 10 would be our route as it appears to be the quickest way by the maps. Today will be the last day that I have internet connection for about a week or so. If they screw up and dont get me re-connected after that then I will use someone else's computer to get in touch with everyone and let yall know whats going on here.

Hahah Done Louis, Sounds alot better too.
Lomax, Yeah I figured 10 would be about the best way for you guys since it runs way on out there. About how many miles is it going to be?

According to mapquest its like 7something. 13 hours is what they have posted, Im no stranger to the floorboard on the interstates so I figure about 10-11 hours with only fuel stops lol. Still no garrenttee's but like I say, everything is looking good for the trip. Most people think that I am crazy for wanting to drive this far just to go riding, but for me its a long overdue vacation, plus I get to meet some of the people that i talk to almost everyday.

Its 770 or so from here to Haspin Acres, took us about 11 hours last year (But I kept it on the floor or damn close to it most of the time doing 85-90MPH :D). lets us know how it turns out, Look forward to seeing you here. When you get hooked back up I'll send you my phone number so you can have it for the trip here.

I am going to be coming from S. Florida and will need to confirm some directions, though.

Outstanding! "Oh I wish I was in the land of Cotton". Very cool. I just met a fellow Tri Z lover and he is very excited about heading up there for DIXIE Trikefest. He is coming over next weekend so I can help him work out all the issues he has with his old Z. He is also going to do his best to make to Indiana. finding a fellow triker is like finding and old trike.
By the way, we are good to go with the whole breakfast thing. Does any body haver any request? Keep in mind we are on a budget. But if we are going to buy some supplies, I want to make sure it is soeemthing that evrybody will want.

Oh I was also going to ask, is everyone shiping in on the food or what, I may have missed something about this somewhere in the last 6 pages so I need a refesh. After this week I should know for sure, if so, then I will either send some cash or just pay when i get there. I will also be bringing some extra food and things along...

Dang we're gonna have a Tri-Z fest from the sounds of it haha.
I was thinking about it before but from the sounds of the amount of people being here I dont think it would hurt to have a port-a-pot by campsite for use in the middle of the night and what not. My parents dont care about someone coming in the house and using my bathroom to shower and whatever during the day but they are not real hot on the idea of people coming in and out in the middle of the night :p
Lomax, on the food stuff we kind of all just assigned ourselves a meal to provide for. Zack is bringing some hotdogs, buns ect. Wheelie king is bringing hamburgers and buns and some of that stuff, Louis is doing breakfast, and I'm doing chips/snacks and all the ketchup/mustard/mayo/miracle whip/relish for the hotdogs/hamburgers. Drinks are a BYOB deal. Although I've got a big ass 20 gallon or so ice chest we can put some canned drinks and **** if someone doesnt have room for a cooler and ice or whatever, like I said we got an icemachine out here (A Small one, but an ice machine) so we should be able to keep the chests stocked without having to run to town.

I will bring a portable toilet with me. It is called a shovel. It works rather well.
It sounds like we are covered with the food. Now, I think it would be a respectfull gesture (did I spell that correctly) to promise that we will not disturb Billy's parents or there house too much by tracking in and out for what ever reason. This was intended to to be a camping trip. So, bring your shovels or your girly port-a-shitters.

I will be riding without 5th gear because of transmission problems but that shouldn't be to big of a problem.
There is a possibility we will be getting a loader backhoe between now and then, if we do I'll make sure we got a mini motocross track to play on :-)

I know of a stong running ytm 200e with a brand new rear rack. Runs great with elec start, newer tires, etc. and it belongs to a friend of mine. It's my old bike. He's in a $ crunch and would probably take 600 bucks
Anyone else? Reason I'm asking is I may bring it along if any of you all are interested.
Billy Golightly
04-04-2005, 12:31 PM
I dont know the number for sure, But I believe it is old exit #83 which is now the new 435. Thats if your coming north or south on 75. You will want to go west on I-10, and then go till you get to exit #283 on I-10, and exit there. Immediatly to your right is a "Penn Oil" truck stop, which is I was figuring on meeting everyone at since it is simple and easy to find. But if anyone wants to try their luck at making it all the way out to the house thats fine, I'll post directions for that also.
I was kind of just kidding on the parts but seriously if someone wants a peice I have we can work something out. I have to many projects as it is now and I need to thin some stuff out.

I and my crew plan on arriving there at about noon on Sat., I just didn't want you to have to wait at the corner station all for all that time in case we get held up or something. I just was not sure if we all plan on arriving at (relatively) the same time- I can't think that Billy wants to sit and wait for us for hours. I dont want to "put out" the host
If you like, Try and post the directions and see if we can map it. I say this because, due to my profession, I have a program that will map almost anything, even rural areas. Just a thought.

Would it be easier if you post your address and we all hit up Mapquest?
Billy Golightly
04-04-2005, 01:31 PM
I just plugged my address into mapquest and was suprised, it actually worked.
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&addtohistory=&formtype=address&searchtype=address&cat=&address=1683%20151st%20Rd&city=Live%20Oak&state=FL&zipcode=32060%2d8118&searchtab=home
After you come off I-10, hang a right and follow US129 for 4 miles (According to mapquest, that seems short but I'm not gonna argue with it) until you get to CR132. If you pass over the Suwannee river you've went to far. Turn left on CR132, and follow it for 6.5 miles until you get to CR145. Turn to the Right. Go about one mile on CR145 until you come head on with a Dirt road, and the paved road will continue looping around to the right. There is also 2 churchs, one on each side of the road here. Continue straight onto the dirtroad past the 2 curves until you get 20th Street, turn to the left and follow it around 3 bends until you get near the end and are headed straight for out gate. Continue through the gate under the wooden archway and you are now on Golightly property :)

My fincee just asked what kind of gear will there be for the breakfast preperation. She wnted to know if we should bring a grill or any thing of the sort. She also wanted to amek sure she is not stuck over the camp stove most of the day. I told her lovingly to shut up and do her job.
Billy Golightly
04-04-2005, 01:47 PM
I've got a gas grill, and also a single burner gas cooker that a skillet can go on. I'll probably cook the hamburgers, Brats and hot dogs (Unless someone else wants to?) on the grill since thats what I know how to do haha.
One other thing I forgot to mention before, I hope no one has a fear of dogs or anything because we have 3 on the loose here at all times :p Just makin sure heh.
edit: oops you said breakfast. Like I said before, single burner cooker, cast iron skillet, and a spatula and all that stuff we have. So most of it should be covered.

That sounds reasonable. We will most likely bring a camp stove just in case. I did not realize the number of peoople was getting so large. If we are providing the breakfast material we may have to stick to the basics for financial reasons. if you have something special you want you may have to bring it your self and she will cook it.

Yeah I got the Stainless exhaust bolt's. I had them sitting on my truck bed rail, I grabbed one and put it on the side where we took the old one out yesterday. I then walked over to grab the second one and instead of grabbing it I bumped it and it went down the square hole in my bedrail!!! I tried to find it but couldn't. Luckily I didn't take the other stud out yet so I got one stainless and one carbon steel exhaust stud. I put the nut back on the old side and went riding. It work's good. I would have went back to the store to get another stainless but they were closed. I will get another one this week.

Billy, how bad is it leaking? if it is real noticable, I would not run it. But that is just me.
Billy Golightly
04-11-2005, 07:14 PM
Yeah...its leaking pretty bad. There is a possibility I have a topend gasket kit around here somewheres, if I do I'll try changing it and see if it'll fix it. Kind of figures, I just spent about $300 on it, new seat cover, new progressive front fork springs, new seals, fork oil, front tire. We'll see.
LonesomeTriZ
04-11-2005, 07:17 PM
Progressive front fork springs? How much of a difference did they make?
Billy Golightly
04-11-2005, 07:21 PM
A whole lot. I used those with a 2.5inch PVC spacer, and 15wt oil. They feel so much better then before, but could still stand to be stiffened up a little bit. My only problem now is that since I went from a 25 inch front tire to a 23 that frame bottoms out on the ground before the suspension does. I guess since I'm running 18's in the back. Will probably try swapping to 20's soon and see if that solves it but for now I'm not really concerned about it a whole lot.
wheelie king
04-11-2005, 08:32 PM
Wow, Billy- 18s??? Talk about a holeshot!!!!!! 20s would still probably launch you just fine, and give you that extra tallness that you need, and maybe a little more top end..... :naughty: :naughty:

04-12-2005, 09:45 PM
Haha yeah, I haven't had a good sized group of people out here riding for a couple years, it will be nice.
Hmmm thats apretty cool idea Zack. Wonder how we could do it? Lay it out and then cut it out or something? My art skills are severely lacking :p
atczack
04-12-2005, 09:58 PM
I was thinking a rectangular tarp, maybe folded once or twice long-way's to make it like 2' high and 10' or 12' long. Take a sharpie marker and write 'Rumble in Dixie' in block letter's and color the letter's in with spray paint. Make all the letter's in red except the 'X'. Make that blue with white star's in it. We can cut a star template out of cardboard and lay it inside the 'X' and spray white in the template to make the star's. Then get like 4 bungie cord's or equal length's of rope and center it over your gate post's. Well, the tarp would more than likely be blue anyway, so you wouldn't need blue paint. Just white and red. I have a brand new can of white. I can get red from work. Now I just need to find an old tarp! Are we getting carried away?! lol

Shirts were ordered today, I'm picking them up on the 21st. I had to front all the $, but forget the details---long story short the cost to all of you is 13 bucks a shirt. Larges and XLs only (to keep the cost down).
You gotta have one. The suspense is a killer, huh? ;)

Woohoo T-Shirts! I also just got back from a spin on my Z. The base gasket got like sucked in the motor on one corner? :wondering: werid. It wasn't torn so I pulled it back over and hooked it down with some yellow 3M adhesive and held it there for about 20 minutes until it dried. Doesn't seem to be leaking any. Engine feels weird in the upper RPM range but I'm gonna call it good and try not to ride it a whole lot between now and then so I dont risk breaking it :p
I just remembered/found out that the Suwannee River Jam (Concert) is the same weekend...you guys might run into a bit of traffic getting out here, but it shouldn't be to bad. We'll more then likely be able to hear the music at night heh.

Well, I finally got my internet back up and going again, I will know either Friday or Monday, I know thats cutting it close but thats how things always work out for me for some reason. I also have the "Suprise" trike that I was talking about. Picked up a 1985 Honda 250SX for 500 bucks :w00t: . Original 1 owner machine and has been taken very good care of all its like (still looks a little rough around the edges but an easy fix). I might have another trike coming with me thats a cherry, Picked up a 1986 ATC 250R with all kinds of extras and absolutly the cleanest trike I have ever touched (for an unrestored one) for only 600 bucks!! Problem with that one is, I only bought a small portion of it, my dad wanted a trike so he fronted most of the cash for it so Its most likley going to set in the barn and proceed to rot instead of get rode..

Betcha OUR shirts will be much cooler than the Suwanee River Jam t-shirts! :w00t: I can dig some in-the-distance music, though.
Can't wait :beer
ALSO- I did a recalculation on the numbers- We'll do 12 bucks per shirt. Alright with everybody?

Cool with me. I have a friend in Pennsylvania that I send local bar shirt's and stuff to and he send's Pennsylvania bar shirt's to me. Anyway I told him about the shirt's you are making and he want's to get one too. Will there be enough for us all to buy a couple or is it pretty much one shirt per person? I understand either way. You went way out of your way to hook us up and I for one appreciate it. Thank's man.

Pleasure is all mine- There are going to be about 30 shirts available, so if people wanna buy 2 or even 3, that should not be a problem.

Hey Lomax, it sounds like you are out of excuses. We want to see that Honda of yours. So you better show up. Don't make me drive all the way to Texas.
Thanks for putting out the trouble for the shirts. I am pretty sure we will buy more than one.

Billy, I will be sending you a PM to get some information on where the hell to go. It is ok If i show up sometime friday afternoon isnt it????

By the way. What was established as far as meeting? Are we going to meet some place then travel to the property? Or are we to congregate there on the property. We were hoping to leave as soon as my fiancee gets off of work on Friday night.

Either one is fine with me. If you guys get close and want me to come meet you by the interstate give me a ring on my cell, 386-590-6681. If you want to just go ahead and come on out that is fine too. Lomax said him and his crew will probably be getting in Friday afternoon. Zack told me in PM he's gonna be here Saturday morning or around lunch. Louis, you guys are getting here Friday too? That'll be cool. I'm gonna go grocery shopping and get the Brats, the other sausages chips crackers and the fixings for the sandwhiches probably tomorrow or wednesday.
Been out doing a little hill climbing on my Z, I forgot how much lowend power that thing has compared to my 250R  I think everyone will have a good time here.

We are looking forward to it. The guy I was going to bring never got a hold of me this past weekend so we could finish his Z. I guess he will not be coming now. I am anoid because I could have gotten my YTM 200 running and brought it along. Oh well, bitching does no good.

If all goes well, I will have two of my Tri Z's there on site. I will also have my Pro Hauler and my Warrior. Maybe even my tricked out Blaster. I have not decided on that one yet.

Nice. I just found out the right sidecase on my Tri-Z is all broke up. I noticed a hairline crack when zack was here the other day but its got alot worse. I'm gonna have to pull it off and try welding it up before this weekend :(
LonesomeTriZ
04-18-2005, 05:53 PM
I wish I had the correct welder for aluminum. I have a container full of those side covers. if oly I could repair them.
It sounds like that Z is giving you a hell of a time. just what ever you do, do not let it win. ;)

Well I got it half assed stuck together. The only thing now I'm noticing is water in my transmission oil, AHHH! Impellar seal must be bad. Maybe I'll try robbing one off that YZ250 engine and see if it'll work good enough for just this weekend. This thing is kicking and screaming the whole time haha it DOES NOT want to be rode :p

Hey guys...make sure you add some bug dope (Off, or whatever) to your list because the skeeters are THICK around here now. I'm gonna probably have a couple tiki torches burning at night + the fire so we should be ok but it will not hurt to have some anyways.

Man, I got people dropping out left and right! My buddy Shaun would rather hang out with his daughter. My buddy Joe would rather hang out with his son. My buddy Boe would rather go to 'Wild Adventure's'!! WTF?! My buddy Brian said he might not be able to go now, but want's me to take his Banshee because it hasn't been rode for any length of time for like 6 month's! My boss asked me about it and seemed interested and said he might be able to make it out on Sunday. He has 2 Raptor's a Banshee and a Blaster. My buddy Brad is 50% sure he will be able to make it on Sunday. The only one that is committed 100% is my buddy Cameron on his ATC 110! But then again he is 12 and has no schedule he has to follow other than school! Anyway, I am counting the second's man! I can't wait!

I got some more wood chopped up, burned the leaves, got the tiki torches filled and set out plus got some of the groceries this afternoon. Got 5 bags or so of chips and pretzels, big ass can of planters nuts, some bolgna, got 4 packs of Brats. Gonna haul the grill and the propane cooker over there in the morning. The skeeds are very very bad back there right now. Probably gonna have to run the tiki torches 24/7 to keep them away :p

Watcha mean Louis? Lost on getting here? Hehe the mapquest directions are pretty good actually, I was suprised how accurate they were considering how far out in the boonies we are. WARNING Though! You will be almost sure you are lost when you get close but if you keep following them you should be fine. If you can't find your way though give me a ring. Thats for all you guys.

I am lost in gerneral  Is there anything we should know about locating your place in the dark? We will be getting there some time Friday night. So I was wondering if I should be aware of anything special.
Billy Golightly
04-20-2005, 10:34 PM
The dirt road that comes off the paved road is narrow and pretty twisty with a few blind curves. Take them slow and stay on your side of the road. Your gonna maybe have a little bit of trouble finding it in the dark the first time. Let me write these out and it'll maybe help you some.
When you get off exit 283 from I-10, turn right onto US129 and follow it 4 miles until you get to CR132 or "Stagecoach RD", Turn to the LEFT. If you pass over the Suwannee river, or the inspection station, you've went to far.
On CR132 Stagecoach road follow it until you get to CR145 or Fort Union road. There should be a couple little signs on the corner that say "Fort Union AME church" and "Hopewell baptist church" The one sign is a reflective blue and you can see it kind of good at night. Turn to the RIGHT onto it. If you come to the intersection of 249 and 132, you've went to far.
Continue on CR145 Fort union road until you come to a split where the paved road wraps around to the right (24th), and a dirt road is infront of you. There is a small church on each side of the road here. Continue straight onto the dirt road (Watch that curve though!).
Follow the dirt road portion of CR145 around 2 bends until you come to 20th street, which goes to the left. There is a white house on the right, right before the road. Hang a LEFT on 20th street.
Follow 20th street around 3 bends until it goes right into our front gate, which has 3 wooden poles in an archway over it. Our mailboxes are on the left hand side, the road continues to the right on on a 90 degree angle but you dont need to go there.
Continue on down our driveway till you are almost out of the front pasture and have got to the pine trees, hang a left and follow the path where the grass is beat down to the other side of the field (Which would be the left when you come in). Go through the small opening through the trees into the next field, the campsite is on the right. Chances are if Lomax and his crew gets here Friday afternoon I'll be out there with them and we'll hear your truck, I'll come meet you out in the front pasture when you come inthe front gate.
Cell phone reception will be poor at best, but if it works feel free to give me a call.
Billy Golightly
04-21-2005, 01:45 PM
Louis, my dad and I were talking and figured since it will be dark when your coming in it might be best if I just meet you at the Penn Oil truck stop right when you exit off of I-10. You can just give me a call on my cell phone or the house (PM me and I'll give that one if you dont have it). If you want to do that or come on out on your own either one is fine. Just giving you a few more options.
