250sx ehgine mod ?

mine is stock now and i have been thinking about bigger displacement or a high compresion piston kit. my questionis i already have enough power to get t o max speed just fine. am i limited by the gearing? i am afraid to spend the money just to get to 50 mph faster but not to have any other performance gains.
what are your thoughts?
i mainly want to be able to churn through mud and up hills.

Can you get to top speed going up a hill, because I cant. Somthin to think about

i went climbing up a really steep hill only about 25' high. from a standing start i could only pull 2nd gear. it also bogs a little in the mud if it's thick and deep.

easiest thing to do is to take the air box cover off, and unscrew the spark arrestor plate on the bottom of the muffler or just cut the baffle out. If you want to get fancy get a high compression piston (probably 10:1), a new cam from webcams.com (they have reallly nice ones for SXs if you have done mods like high comp piston), and I think that is about all you can do to them.

and yes because of the gearing all you'll be able to do is make it more responsive.

Mine will climb until i run out of momentum and then dig in with tires spinning in 2nd. and she's pretty much stock, other than a KN filter.

yeah you should be able to climb a hill and keep going faster, if not drop down a gear till you get enough RPMs. Well I cant say that because my one Sx is a GOD DAMN PANSY. cant pull for trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro and it will go faster than my beefy one but only on a flat.

I also saw for sale a while back an 86 250sx with i believe it said 1997 trx300 motor in it? I wonder if the 300 top ends would bolt on? or even the whole motor bolt in? I should've called and found out if it was a bolt-in of mod-in. wonk wonk!. hind sight is fore sight......or was it skin, lol.
