I just bought a 3 wheeler with the seat in crappy condition, the foam is exposed and rotted away. I'd like to get a whole new pan and foam assembled, but for the sake of expierience and to save $$$, I want to fix it myself. Where do I start? Should I rip the old foam off and fab up my own? Has anyone done this with success? How many swear words will I shout throughout the process? Any help is appreciated. :wondering

If you want to save money do it yourself then. I don't know how wrecked your foam is but cut a piece of foam to fit the hole, then buy some vinyl and stretch it on using a hair dryer to heat vinyl to help stretch it tight. This helps remove any wrinkles in the vinyl. Buy quality vinyl though, I just did my first one using hair dryer and I got all the wrinkles out. Usually I just pulled it tight and fastened it with all the wrinkles. Hope this helps.

the pan, you can more than likely pick up a fiberglass kit from the local automotive store and fix it up, try www.hi-flite.com for seat cover and foam..depends on the trike tho

If you're going to replace pieces of your seat foam, you must use high density foam. Regular upholstry shop foam won't cut it, it's much too soft. Use pieces from an old "donor" m/c set for the bits. You'll be much happier!
