View Full Version : 84 handa 70 ATC what year head fits

I have 84 70 ATC ,i have to change the head .What year or years head can i use on my trike.Do they sell a new one with valves all ready together.I need one with good exhaust ports and studs,and a good spark plug hole.If anyone knows were to get one new or used let me know ,please thanks ......svo58

All ATC70, CT70, TRX70, SL70, and im probbaly missing a few.

Sorry Tim, Not all years, look for the newer years around that era. On any of those bikes Tim mentioned. They changed the oil passages from the the older 70's to the newer ones. You have your old one when picking up a new one just make sure the oil passages line up. A quick pict will confirm. A brand new one can be achieved at dratv.com

I went to the site dratv.com,thanks-it said the "old type head " will fit all 70 ATC's .Its a old type head and it fits all years 70 ATC's and 70 fourtrax.Does that mean any year head will fit.Someone has a 78 honda 70cc head will it fit my 84 70cc trike,with out a pix how can you tell if it will fit,thanks .......svo58

If they say it will then I would take their word. I know on my 79 I had to have the right gaskets. For its year, when I bought them.

Thanks for the info, Jenn. Are the differences visible in a photo? I think Ive still got a few, I might be able to help him with, if they are the right ones. If I email him good photo, will he able to match it with his?

It should be pretty obvious, the holes are bigger. I unfortantly do not have my 70's anymore. I just know I ran into this. It may not be that huge of a deal , but you need the oil for the topend. Is the only reason why I bring this up.
