Well I've been busy for sure. My 250R is close to completion. I have a brand new stock swinger Plus OEM wheels and tires to put on. I do like the extended swinger look though. Also I have to restore my stock grab bar and powder coat it (TRX grab bar on there now) A few other odds and ends to complete but shes almost there!! :Bounce

You need to reroute the overflow tube from the carb. The one that you have routed over and to the rear of the case saver/chain guard needs to run down the front of the case saver/chainguard.
Just an observation on a nice looking machine.

Looking awesome man. I did get those stickers from Harlan...let me tell you they are so darn close to perfect. The differences are:
1) these are much thicker and durable then stock
2) the orginals overlap the red and blue sections slightly in the middle. I think it does not look good.
3) the stock stickers are slightly brigher in the white outline sections.
No one but a purist could tell the difference. Harlan is the the man when it comes to decals....bar none!
Any guesses which is stock and which is original here??

The R is looking good man. I'd love to see a pic of that OEM swinger. Is the paint really nice on it?
Also what about decals?
Richard at www.atcheaven.com has some pro link reproduction stickers. All you can buy now are the Fourtrax ones and these from 86 had black outlines not white like the ATC.

I snap some new pics of the Z tommorrow. Still some work to be done on the Z. Now I feel like Ive been neglectful of her. Not going crazy on the Z with restoration right now because I have to ride some of these bikes.

I bought some decals off ddrslapp on ebay for my 86 R and they are awesome! Very nice quality and are the right size. Ended up getting the front and rear fender decals, rear number plates, shroud decals, and all the pro link decals for the swinger. This spring I'm pulling my swinger off and my buddy who owns an auto paint shop is going to give it a shot of gold paint for me. Should look real nice.

Darius is Harlan paying you?? Just kidding. Nice R. I also bought some excellent decals from ddrslapp on Ebay, if you want one layer, bright, and protected decals he is your man. He explained to me that each of his decals are, laminated and then meticulously and precisely cut. I echo Dynofox here, awesome job, he has my vote, highly recommend him to all. I have not heard of Harlan, if you want to go with the facts, ddrslapp has a proven record here, ~check out his feedback. Very fast and dependable. A lot of repeat customers too. I am buying another kit from him for my 85 ATC250R. this guy never takes a vacation!!!

Nice post. He may be your man....but I'll stick with Harlan thanks.
Perhaps you signed up just for the purpose of advertising for ddrslapp. 1 post huh? I have over 900 posts and only learned of Harlan through this site.
Well, let me tell you that I take my trikes seriously. I also take my reputation seriously. I don't appreciatae the acquisation that I am being paid to lie about decals or even to support someone.
The facts speak for themselves. Yes, ddrslapp does have some fair decals. The color red is way off, the print quality is low, and the size is not exact on the front fender decal. I even went through the trouble of informing them of this 3 weeks ago. The front fender decal is still too small.
So unless you bought yours in the last 3 weeks then the size of your decals will be way off of the OEM size. Of course that probably does not concern most people because they have never even seen the original 250r decals.
I have and it does matter to me.
Well I won't bother with silly debating. I bought ddrslapp's decals and did not put them on my trike.
The pictures speak for themselves...
There are other details like the shape of the cut, gloss, clarity, and thickness which won't show in these picture. Harlan's are twice the thickness of ddrslap's. The blues and red's on Harlans are also spot on.

Maybe the red is supposed to match the 20 year old faded tanks. Pictures really do speak 1000 words. If you want someone to do there homework and research Darius is the man!!!!!

Easy Man... Well they are both good looking decals, neither look as to match HONDA's color exact and even the fronts look the same in your pictures. Any how, I dont think it is fair for ruining others reputations either. I just wanted to post like anyone else has the right too, whether a new person or not.

Well call me silly but this stuff matters to me. I researched everyone because I wanted the best.
Ddrslapp's are good decals...but if you want the best then make the decision for yourself.
I am glad these pictures are up so that others can have the luxury of picture comparisons. I had to buy several decals and wait for them just so I could figure it out myself. Now others don't have to.

Well... go by these facts... your guy doesn't have a record for me nor the number of people that have been here on the boards that DO have a record of dealing with Harlan. I know of the stakes he goes to in order to get OEM exact size and color of his decals.

Exactly. I am not trying to ruin anyone's reputation. I am just pointing out facts using pictures to prove my point. To be honest the pictures don't even come close to capturing the quality differences between Harlans and ddrslapp's.
I have no trouble with the fact that VintageRestored is new. Welcome!!
Just don't question my ethics or motives for supporting when you have not been here to understand how much trouble I have gone through to find the right decals.
The good thing is that others can make thier own decisions. If ddrslapp wants to improve the quality of his decals and make the color better then I'll put up another comparison photo. If they surpass Harlan's I'll be the first to admit it.
In fact, I have helped ddrslapp greatly. I emailed them about 4 times and sent detailed measurements and pics of the originals with a ruler just to improve thier business. The decals were inches off in size! Now they have a better product because I cared.
Just like in any business...when someone steps up to put together a superior product and service he/she should be praised. Harlan did just that hence the praise.
ANY QUESTIONS? GOOD...I am done with this thread!
