Get a trike that is made to go fast, the Bigred is good to putt around on but if your looking for speed I would get a 2 stroke, tri-z, 250R, or Tecate.

the only way to go faster is to go with a bigger tire or diffrent ring and pinnion gear but thats not an option unless your really good with fabrication.

One option is to put larger tires say maybe 26" instead of 25", but if I was you I'd just get a faster trike!

RedRider395, did you get the universal silencer? How loud is it? I'm trying to decide on a pipe for my 86 Big Red also.

I just bought one off a friend that was off a 300ex and cut slits in the end and put a house clamp on it and worked perfect...it sounds nice
To the other guys: Thanks for the suggestions, I would like to get a 350x...I would take that over any 4 wheeler, but I havn't found one around here and don't really wat to drive 100 miles to pick it up, my buddies think Im crazy but its the love for the trikes!

strip it down and take off all unneccessary wieght thats on there, im sure theres alot and if u take some weight off ull go faster it wont go any aster it will just accelerate a lil faster , that is if it runs right.and the 250sx isnt any faster, ive ridden both wide open on dirtroads already. and side by side also.

What type of riding do you do... we do mostly woods trail riding with some dirt farm road around here... I dont have much trouble keep'n up with my buds on 4 wheelers (utili type) and when the trails are tight in the woods the 3 wheels really shine (tight turnning, especially when tilt it up on 2 wheels) compared to the bulky 4 wheelers...
as for more speed outta your big red... just obvious air filter, drop some weight, and the biggest tires you stuff under it (helps on top speed and mud/traction, but kills your accell)..... good luck..
