I have a chance to buy a 185 but it has been bored out and a heavy cam and all the other fancy crap, its more performance engineered than to look good, He said he'd take a hundred he also said that I needed to look at the tires because they were mud tires. My question is even modified like it is will it carry my fat butt or should i stick to the trimoto or should i buy this and **** can the yammie, also were the 185 any good?

i got a 185s...when it was stock it would haul my bro (215 lbs) around just fine...there an opk trike..the only time ove got mine stuck is when i took it through mud over the fenders and hit a hole where a polaris 700 twin got stuck..lol..it was deep but it crawled out eventually..after many rockings...lol..they are good trikes..not the fastest but not the slowest either..they do about 50..they got more power than a tri-moto 125..thats for sure..and u can bore them to 67mm (the highest a 200x can be bored) and the best part is that u can put the cam from an xr200 in there..or 200x or any of the 185-200 models..they are nice ill tell u that..minesnot but there are some good ones out there..and for 100..thats great..does it run?? if so id buy it

I'm no expert, being relatively new to trikes. So take this for what it's worth.
I ride often, about 30 hours per month, and most of that is with a 130 lb 13-year-old son hanging off the rear rack, sitting on a 2X6 plank with a pillow stapled to it. My 185s will climb anything and go through just about anything that my buddies can tackle in their fancy golf carts.
Two examples (with no kid on the back rack):
Riding with my club (about 50 bikes of every size and description) one day they were all freaking out about how I'd ever get through the massive muck hole coming up. I knew we had reached the muck hole when I got to a spot where the trail was nothing more than a river and all the quads had stopped to see how "that poor li'l trike" was gonna get through.
I figured I had to go through it anyhow and I didn't want to show them how freaked out I was so when I got up to where they were all congregated I just pinned her in 2nd and prayed. That thing pulled through about 3/4 mile of water up to the seat (ok, almost up to the seat) like a champ. Foremans and other quads never made it.
But I did.
Another time my regular riding pals (400 Foreman driven by a guy who is a bit of a puss* and a 2x4 250 Honda ridden by a true expert) went through similar conditions, with the Foreman barely making it, admittedly because of the driver's inadequacies but nevertheless. The 185 went through there like a champ.
I could go on, but you get my drift.
If you don't buy it, I will.

P.S. I was just making a point. I have no intention of driving to Michigan from the east coast of Canada to buy that machine. But I wish I could.

I found out what he broke its on the part with the disks its a square shaped peice that has four boltson it he said he must not have torqued it down right, any way it broke and tossed its salad everything els looks to be fine the sidecover looks good yet, but hes got these tires on it that are like 14 inches wide with hellacios treads way to much for this little guy, but he said he has a bunch of extra parts I'll probably get it once i get paid its not going anywhere. I believe he said it was bored to 205cc the piston and rings are new also

well i remeber hearing that a 200x motor will fit or a 200s which i think are the same except the apparent clutch and head cam and some internals, that would be sick to ahave a 185s with a 200x motor, by the way i have 2 of these little beast and trust me i will have them till i pass away i got them when i was 10 and love them they are bulletproof (except that one) and run forever(except that one) they are fourstroke so watever did break * could break down the engine have it machined to right specs and put back together and ride, iam 6 4 250 and they hauled me up glamis dunes on turkey day 04 they took me to the top of competion and get great gas mileage

I have a 185s and a 200s. The 200s has a lot more power than the 185s.
I rode the 185s for a few years and had good power until I got the 200s and did notice a dig difference.
One year I used the 185s to get my xmas tree.
Had wife on back, towing a sled with 2 kids and a 10 foot tree uphill in snow with chained rear tires. The 185s is a workhorse.

all the stuff from any 1850200 except for the 86+ 200x's will fit the TOP END of any of the 185-200's...in other words..you can fit the 200x top end on the 185 bottom end and vise versa..but * cannot put the bottom ends of the 200m or 200e (big red) on the 200x or any other non electric start frame unless * dent in the frame for the electric start or take it off...other than that stuff they all interchange
