Hi everyone..
New to this forum, and 3 wheelers.
Picked up an 83 250r, and I believe an 83 YTM 200 from a friend, and I'm restoring them to be decent riding machines, not a MINT trailer queen or something.
Anyhow...I've been browsing the board, and seen a few people in the Phoenix area.
Anyhow out near Sedona, Flagstaff, Prescott, etc?
I'm up here in Cottonwood.

nope, i live in Mesa. But one of our favorite spots to ride that we most frequently visit is Wolf Creek in Prescott. It is all old jeep trails, ranging from easy, to really hard, and you can ride right out of your campsite. If you haven't been there, i suggest going. it's right off senator highway(by the jack in the box). You usually see a few deer back there while you're riding, too. Its beginning to be Wolf Creek time again(when its 100 down here, lol). If you're interested in going I'll let you know the next time we go.

Ahh ok, Prescott isn't too far from here. I'm finding the nice thing (finally) about living in this area, is that 80% of this place is campgrounds, trails, etc. I can literally ride down my street a few blocks and jump on any of the numerous trails, and ride out to whereever I feel like going. I've added my Yahoo and AIM names to my profile. Send me an IM next time you're heading out this way.

Payson - ahh...
Isn't that home of the Super ATC junkyard "All Bikes"?
Lots of nice toys to play with there, but the guys are all insane and ridiculously high priced. (higher than dealer NEW prices on USED items!)
I've been riding alot at "Bryant Park" - this area between Cottonwood and Camp Verde set up just for off road vehicles, with several tracks and trails.
Fun stuff. Got to watch my 05 KFX400 backflip down a hill 3 days after buying it....yay!
Ehh, fixed it up - now I just get it dirty and clean it everyday. I forgot the cleaning it part this time tho...

lol, those guys at All bikes (its in Rye actually) think their stuff is gold. 1500 for an air R thats been sitting out in the weather is rediculous!!! Plus, He had the rear brake parts we needed, which really we just needed 1 little bitty part, and he said 200 bucks...WHAT?!??? You wonder why they got so much crap piled up there its cuz they can't ever get rid of it, I'm sure plenty of people go and look! Ever walked through all those rows? He's got tecate's, big reds, R's, I don't think I saw any 350's. Go back to his little shop on the right side and their is some pretty old /vintage dirt bikes back in there. The only nice thing is he is willing to ship his parts to us Mesans....he's just too rich for my blood. :(

Yeah,
I was there maybe 1 month ago with a friend who told me they had everything there. Before we even GOT to the yard, we had people at gas stations telling us that he will F*** us on prices, and to not waste our time.
So, we get there, and start drooling over the huge pile of trikes, quads, motorcycles....even some BMW Isettas (Steve Urkel cars)...
INSTANTLY, we have this methhead looking old guy following us, less than 1ft away....like we could run through this maze of tangled equipment and escape with a priceless treasure.
We're there for a carb boot on the YTM200. We find a machine with one, and the owner sends this crazy guy looking for the wrong tool. "Its a 10mm" he says.
"Uh....sir, it's an allen bolt, not a regular bolt...."
"Nah, its a 10, trust me."
So, we wait like 10 minutes for Cletus (probably his name, we never asked) to come back with the wrong tool. Finally, he runs and gets the right part. They write down notes, and then call dealers, or check online - and come back...
"This is no longer in stock - $45.00 plus tax..."
Damn....I was thinking $5...at most....but we needed it.
We also see a switch on another machine we need. I check to see if it even slides, and Cletus shouts "ALRIGHT, DON'T F***IN BREAK IT! LEAVE IT ALONE!"
Hmm...they want $40 for the switch, with almost broken off pieces, and I can't even check it? Does this place even WANT to sell anything?
Well.......after getting pissed at their entire sale process, we head back to Cottonwood. We stop in at Cottonwood Motorsports (local dealer) and just for the hell of it, ask their price for the same piece.
Hmm......brand new.....$34? You can have it in 2 days?
Ughh.
They have a ton of machines out there and parts galore - but I'll never stop there again.

yeah no kidding!!! we needed a pilot jet too, that nobody seemed to have and we needed it like yesterday, well Cletus, I'm sure its the same guy...(you know he lives in the trailer pile at the back of the lot?? you should see his wife!!) goes and pulls out these jets he swears up and down are the right ones. 8 bucks for some used jets??? well like you said we needed them BAD, paid for them, gottem home. WRONG ONES!!! similar, but not gonna work.
I agree, everytime we drive by we feel the need to comment on his outrageous prices and poor sales/ crackheadness.
