I bought one from harbor freight a long time ago and was disspapointed to find out when it got here that it was primarily for PVC pipe and what not. I tried it but only ended up making a few pair of fenders worse.

Yeah, I have seen that beafore. I have been doing some research and found out you have to be very careful and make sure the welder you get can handle multiple materials.

use some super glue to fill in the gap where the crack is and let it set. Then use a heat gun to heat the area up(not too hot) and apply a little pressure. This has worked for me many times, and it keeps the crack from getting bigger

I tried super glue with a hair dryer, no luck what so ever, and I left super glue on it all night, i just tweaked the fender a little and it broke, it is also cold at nights so I am sure that had somthing to do with it.

hey, you have to match the plastic you're welding with the filler you use. the hood scoop on the x is a tool box off a trx200 welded on, works great. should be an adjustment on the welder for the temp, or pressure regulator for the air. have fun, try building something cool to practice.

im wondering if marine grade epoxy would work on the cracks, but it probably wouldnt bind to a smooth surface. i know the stuff we use in boatbuilding is so strong that the wood it goes on will break before the epoxy.
