I have given up all hope of even getting my CB400F started let alone restoring it so I may be getting another bike. Here it is. It is a '81 Yamaha 400 Special. The guy wants $500 for it. He cleaned it off today when I stopped by to get a quad from him (pics are from last week). It looks imaculate. Anywhere there is a discoloration on the paint or exhaust you can almost be guarrented it is dust. I though this was a great steal and will probably be going to get it this week sometime. And I forgot to mension that everything on it works!

It looks good, sounds like you got a good deal. Doesn't look like it will take much to turn it into a rider.

THe CB400 is going back into the shed it came from. There are problems ranging from the simple (blown fuses) to what I find hard to do (the cyclinders have very little compression and the kickstarter can be pushed down by hand.) I am not a mechanically sound person and since my dad will be buying this Yamaha I'm all for pushing the CB back into the dark for another decade or until the owner come back from Callifornia.

We got the bike Saturday night. Our friend that went with my dad and I got the bike to 70 mph without pushing it so it definatly isnt a speed demon. I had fun last night though, its my first bike so I stayed in like first and second and almost dumped it twice. This is also my first twist throttle, so when I die ill have someone post it.
