My friends 200s suddenly burned out a couple plugs started bogging out sometimes, and backfiring when gearing down. I dont know what the problem is. It never did any of this before. The only thing is that the cam chain is reslly loose. It slaps horribly. Also he may have gotten water in his gas. Any ideas?

The problem sounds fuel related, but definitely tighten the chain. Lean out the air/fuel mix some, and make sure that the case is not overfilled with oil.

lean is out, if his chain dosent tighten chances are that the tensinor is toast, if the chain is really loose it could have skipped a tooth or something

I'd move the needle down a click- meaning to move the e clip up on the needle-- therefore less fuel. Leave all the screws on the carb where they are and see if that does it.

Before dicking with the carb, REPLACE THE CAM CHAIN! Cam chain loose = irratic timing I would think which might cause it to back fire.

You don't need to pull the head to do this. It is quite easy.

I know, i think i started that thread. I'd think the chaoin is just stretched rather than the tensioners .
thanks

They are definitely right about the timing. I made the suggestion I made, because moving the e clip on the needle will take a 10 mm wrench and about 5 minutes from start to stop ;) .

what do you mean by "burning out" the spark plugs?

10 mm -------That's what will pull your fuel tank so that you can access the top of the carb.

You'll be sorry if that thing jumps time at speed ..... fix the cam chain first.
