same thing that is causing idle problems is probably why it won't start.

the slow speed circut has tiny holes in it did you make sure you cleaned them out good. that would cause it to have to be push started.

There are two jets that you back out with a screw driver, they is a main hole right through the middle of them, and they also have about four holes on the side. They are very small, about the size of a wire inside a twist tie. They often are missed when cleaning a carb, they plug up very easily. If you didn't notice these pull carb out again and clean them out.

That sounds like a sign of the valves needing adjustment which isn't a real biggie.
What happens is when they are cold they are out of spec causing the motor to start hard. Once they warm up the heat changes the valve gap tolerence close to specs or at least good enough that you can pull start it.
It may idle better too with them in spec. I'm not saying that IS the problem but it's a good possibility. Thats exactly what happens to my 4 stroke motoxer. When the valves go out of spec you must kick and kick and kick till you get it warmed up. No 10-15 minute job for that thing though as you need shims to put it back to spec. Your's is just a simple adjustment needing a 10 or 8Mm wrench and a screw driver once you take the valve caps off. Motor must be in correct stroke to check which is also quite easy.
Once use to the procedure it is no more then a 10-15 minute job.
You have a manual?

i don't have a manual or anything but im sure i can find just about anyting i need on the internet. but that sounds like its worth a try where do you get shims? could i get them from like parts plus or an advanced auto

You don't need any shims at all. My motoxer does though.
Yours needs no parts for adjustment.
Valve caps have a rubber o-ring usually and are only there to seal up the motor and not let any oil seep out. No need to wrench down on them hard........just so they feel snug. Just note how hard they come off and snug them up the same way when installing them.
1st step for sure is to find a manual on it.

Had the same problem with the YTM200. It would ONLY start if you dragged it behind a car and kicked it in gear.
Turns out the thing had almost NO compression. It heats up from the push starting enough to expand the rings and increase compression. I would imagine you have the same problem now from the sound of it.

so what your really tryin to say is just go get it honed and new rings ?
