Well..had it mounted yesterday.. new Kenda Front max .. 22 x 11 x 8, seems taller than my old Mud-Devil, but not as wide.. this one won't rub the forks !!

And on the other picture is the bearings i'm in the process of replacing..

The red arrows point to the dust seals with the metal retainers.. the yellow is a dust seal without that metal ring....

I bought a brake drum and plate from e-bay... and it had the seal without metal ring.... however. the bearings that were on the machine had a deal with a ring........ now the manual does not specify and there are no pictures to show wich is the way it's supposed to be.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me what's supposed to go here ?

oh..... and also.

I removed the bearings from the left side.. and matched them up to the bearings i had bought.. i had 2 in a cardboard box and 2 in a plastic seal....

I put them up to each other and by eye they seems to be 4 of the same bearings..

Low and behold... the left side bearings are not as THICK as the right side.

There is about 1/32 " difference in each.. with adds up to 1/16 when you put them together.... and i had all 4 installed.

Had to do the unthinkable.......   .. i had to remove them and swap them..... ARGHHH.... i really did not want to have to slam on new bearings.. they came out ok, but i know this should not be done.

ok.. i'm gonna F!@#% kill someone.

Get this.. i called HONDA, ( should have known better  ) wanted to know if it's the regular seal.. of the one with the ring.

I get the office ( Janet.. who usually works in parts !! ) and ask her.. she's like " oh. i'm in in parts today.. i'll transfer you " .. so i'm like " Ok ".

Explain it to Steve.. who makes me hold for 5 minutes only to tell me he canot tell me from looking at the diagram, and offers to transfer me to Kevin in Service !!!!

So kevin comes on the line.. i explain myself a 3rd time.... and basically.. since i'm not Paying him to do the work..he's not obliged to answer my question is what it boils down to...........

Why he's giving me an analogy of how if i was a business owner if i would help a customer out that bought a different car brand. blablabal....

i'm like " WELL KEVIN.. MAYBE I WOULD, AND SECURE MYSELF A SALE IN THE FUTURE ".. and he goes on with another example... i just called in an idiot and hung up on the *******......

Aight....

Finally got it all buttoned up last night....

In all.. i'd say i put in about 6 to 8 hours total work time...... could have been done in about 4, but i took my time and scrubbed everything donw really good,, repainted left side bearing carrier etc.......

And let me tell you . MY OLD BEARINGS WERE SHOT !! it's such a nicer ride.. has a solid feel to it now, no more clunk in the suspension, or foot pegs.. and get this !

I NOW HAVE FRONT AND BACK BRAKES !!!! this is soo cool !

As far as the front tire.. it rocks. i can turn around in at least 3 ft less space now, less push.. more turn. and looks better too !
