85 SX and ES Tanks the same ?

Can anyone please confirm this ?

My gas tank has 2 HUGE dents in it and i've located one for 35 $. but it's from an 85 Big red......

are they the same or different ?

Nope they arent cuz ES has the side covers that mount into the side of it. If you needed to, I am sure you could use one of the other but it wouldnt look right hehehe

yeah. i want to keep the shape of the SX tank.. lines/ ridges next to the cap running all the way down.... vs smooth..

It will mount, but will look like @$$. The ES tank holds more gas if im not mistaken.
