Hah, yep. Some for sure. Got my frame back from a buddy who is a certified welder today. So I decided to get it somewhat together. Still lacking a front axle, it is supposed to be here tomorrow. I did get that rim + hub today John, Gonna strip that tomorrow, and attempt to do a bearing change. Worked a good 2 1/2 hours or so on it today.
Might as well lay some more pictures on....
Heres the frame when I got it, As you can see it looks like someone let their 3 year old son weld it. splatters all over, no penatration, and they didnt even do the opposite side of the tube.

Here it is after my buddy got done with it, and I touched it up with some paint., You cant even tell that it has been welded now, besides the paint I used is a tad bit brighter then the stock paint.

And heres some assorted pictures..

Check the zip on that package Jared.... it was sent from Wayland NY. ;) Now I sent that regular mail, and sent a package to Mike from long island Priority mail the same day and he said he hadn't got it yet. Hmmmmm...
So Jared... looks like a great job! Do you hire out? I got a 350X I need to change a frame out on... going to run the VIN first though and make sure it's OK. I keep debating though... turned over that crate motor the other day to turn the bearings... wow! I'd be just a couple parts short of building a third 350X, (rear carrier, front forks, misc nuts and bolts, air filter) but think I'll keep the crate motor for the future. I might swap out the bad frame and bolt the other pieces (minus motor) together on the old frame to make storage easier! haha
Where'd you get your front axle from? Any of the leads I sent you?

I got the front axle from a guy on ebay, BrassMonkey or something like that.
I went through ALOT of grease and anti-seize putting this sucker together, I want to make sure its a smooth tear down next winter when I re-do it all.
Do I hire out? LOL. Well, it seems I do it alot around here. As long as got all the parts laid out and ready to go, Its only a couple hour job. It only took me a couple hours to do that today. And some of that time was spent talking to my curious neighbor who wandered over into my yard to see what I was building. If you want me to come down and lend a hand throwing one together sometime, I'll gladly do it, Thats the best part of this hobby to me. working on them.

Oh, also, Bruce. While I got your attention, You wanna give me a hand on routing the clutch /throttle cable, and the wires? I want to make sure I have it all correct. Maybe just some directions or a picture?

You got a manual? It has all the "Official" Honda cable and wiring routing diagrams in it. If not, I can scan you one in...

Alright, going to attempt to upload a video of it running... Kind of pissed right now, as it was sitting there idling smoke was pouring off the header. So much for the "high temp" paint I used, You can see it bubbling and coming off.. Owell.. Have to find some better stuff and re-do it.... Unless the curing process involves alot more smoke then they say on the can.

your michigan and indiana buddys got you covered. there is a schedule #80 piece inside the broken part of your new frame that dizasterfumes is gonna weld together for you this weekend. then i'll be able to tweek it to perfection with the hydraulics on my work truck.
you should have room to haul it back from haspin considering you won't be hauling all those cases of beer back that 350x'inNY owes me and is gonna throw on top of your new camper :)

Holic.... I told you I had my scouts out looking for you. Ask John.... I was asking around to erectordale and disasterfumes about your frame, and when John showed me he picked up a roller 350X the day after I left, one of the first things I told him was to check the frame for you! I told you it'd all work out Holic! :beer
John.... Holic puts all the beer IN the camper.... only other beverages are placed outside on the trailer to become flying missles when they fall off and fly at Steve's windshield! hahaha

looks like all that paint protected the finish very well !
when 350x'inNY was over he picked on me cuz he pointed out i had a 200x hub/rim on my x ( i didn't know it) and that i was sending that one off to you. well the day after he left i come across a 86 roller with just as nice a rim/hub ( with out the paint job. ). the first time he was over he knit picked my x apart too ( he has a good eye for detail) ,,, i told him last time i ain't so sure i want him looking at my 350x anymore - lol !
what did you use to remove that paint off that quick ?

I have only spent about 5 minutes on that rim, It actually had 3 coats of paint.. A real nice red, then 2 thick coats of black. I still gotta go over it and polish it up a bit. I use this stuff here for all my stripping needs;
http://img218.echo.cx/img218/4577/strip8qx.jpg
Works AWESOME. But if you get it on your skin, it burns like crazy. I guess if you dont get it off quick enough, it wont stop eating untill it hits your bone, But i havent left it on long enough to see -LOL.
Yeah... This 350x had a 200x front rim/hub on it also. I noticed it when I looked at the pictures of it when it was complete over in michigan.

Hey John.. I think its safe to say the bearings in the hub were shot;
http://img165.echo.cx/img165/9945/shot14od.jpg
LOL.. They sure came out hard, but with lots of severe beating + heat + chemicals they popped out eventually. I have some new ones ready to throw in it.
Not sure where the other seal went, I smacked it extremely hard after trying to pry it slowly, and I havent seen it since.

Why not just get the frame welded holic?
I really dont want to tear it all apart and have the frame fixed. I would like to have another frame, have it powder coated and do a quick refurbish without having yet ANOTHER pile of parts that used to be a trike laying around!

Come on now.. I had a 350x in 2 plastic tubs, do it neatly and you wont have a pile of parts! ;) :p :D
