I know stock is 178, I'm just wondering what everyone is running? And when is it time to rebuild? I know mine came in at about 140-145, But the thing runs great, and it still kicks over like a mule, And doesnt smoke.

I just found my old broken kickstarter to turn my crate motor over once and awhile.... wow.... talk about compression! I thought it was siezed at first! Since it's still crated, and the kickstart knuckle is broke, I have to push it over by hand. It made some nice sounds!!! :beer I'll test the compression on it if you are interested.

I'm just interested in if I should be worried with 140psi of compression?, for being so much lower then stock, I sure as hell hate the thought of kicking over a stock one with 178psi of compression while going through the tuning phase.

Although, I am interested to know what the stock compression really is. Just to sort of see how correct honda was.

I just did a compression test on my stock 86 350x engine, warmed up engine with the throttle wide open. I am also running 140psi. A longer kick start lever would make starting it easyer.

I've had a smoker motor running with about 90 psi before ,and had one that I put together a couple month's ago in the 200 range, and it was a bear to kick over at that.If your in the 140-160 range and it runs fine,I would go with that, but when you start running them at lower compression's,you can cause damage.

When it stops running and you can kick it over with your hand its time for a rebuild. My X ran till the very end. Now its rebuild time!
