Oring chains have internal lubrication right?
So all you really need is something on the outside to keep it from rusting, or am i wrong? I have been just putting hypoy gear oil on the chain to lubricate it.
I also dont know what lube to get cuz they got so many: :Bounce www.denniskirk.com

I don't think gear oil is too good on the o-rings.

I like the Bel Ray lube also. It doesn't fling off.

either the owners manual or service manual recommended that.

Really? That's news to me. I figured the o-rings would get ate up by petroleum products, guess not.

Whatever you decide to do, DONT use a wax type lubricant. Those are intended to be used for on-road motorcycles where there is little or not debris (dust, dirt ect) floating around. Using the wax lube on an off-road chain is like making a dirt magnet.

I use PJ1 Chain Lube, which is supposedly formulated for use on o-ring chains, and it never attracts any dirt at all. NOT!

Dont get me wrong, I'm not saying that a normal oil based lube wont attract dirt but the wax does it worse and keeps it held there. The oil for the most part will sling off after a little bit wheres the wax just sort of stays and keeps grinding away. Atleast thats been my experience.

I use the PJ1 lube too. It seems to do ok at not attracting too much dirt.

Hondaline clear or Belray super clean.
I got sent the wrong Belray (wax type) one time. Used it and found your better off to not even lube the chain if that's all you have. A real dirt ball attracter of a lube.
I don't even think I'd use it on a street bike. Very hard to get off once on.
I wouldn't even give that stuff away except to someone I disliked.
