tach question

i searched and couldnt find a answer so ill ask. is there a way to hook up a tach on my 250sx? i have i tach that used to be in my old car and i want to make use of it. all i need is a "signal" wire off the trike for it to work, but i have no clue as to which wire to use.

You need a tach that is designed for a one cylinder motor. I bet there is a little switch on your car tach for 8/6/4. that selects the number of cylindars.

no im not spending any money on one. i just thought i could use someting i already had. i did read on here that someone hooked a car tach up to a polaris 400, so im thinking i could do the same for my250sx. i justed kneeded to known which wire i should try so i didnt blow anything up by geting the wrong one.
