are the front forks the same diameter and width on an 86 vs. and 84?
i need a front fender for an 84 and found a cheap one for an 86 but none for an 84 so far.

Well to answer part of the question the 85-86 fender will work nicely on the 83-84r. IN fact it gives it a much nicer look in fron too. Snag it if you can.

To answer the other part of your question, the diameter of the forks on an 85/86 R is 39mm. I'm not exactly sure about the 83/84 R's, but they were probably somewhere around 35mm's.

scott,
i feel so bad about your 84 and 2 deadbeats. doesn't it cost you around 40 bucks to list it each time?
ebay should not charge you a second listing fee if the first buyer doesn't pay.

Well they suposely take the fees away if I file for the dead beat bidder deal. First one I didnt pay for since the bidders ID was invalid shortly after the ending of the auction. The second I filed a claim against the user and shouldnt have to pay for it. That is the reason for putting a 300$ non refundable deposit. Cuz if they dont get it in 2wks I have 300$ to cover my loss haha.

The brake line runs down the right side on 84, left side on 85 & 86. So the fenders have cutouts or holes for that stuff too which may look a bit odd on the other year trike... I wouldn't care too much about that though if it looks cool, DO IT! :naughty:

Yeah most little kids dont understand what they are or why they look like that. Mine is actually getting set up as a flat track racer with 90% old school parts. To each his own, I say.

I asked about those on a diffrent thread on here. I do like them. Just joking around a little that's all. I think it would be even cooler to find a front tire to match but that will probably be impossible. Looks good my friend.

i put a 85-86 fender (brand new maire black) on the 84 i had and did not care for how it looked because of the un-used portion of the brake line run.
john
Just use it for the spedo cable :naughty:
