Ok, I had posted earlier that a guy was selling a Tri Moto 175 and a Tri Moto 125, both for $550.
The 175's carrier is cracked and needs new bearing/seals and apparently a carrier.
The 125 needs rear brakes and the carbs cleaned.
Sounds easy enough, but the thing is the guy works on ATV's for a living and he doesn't "have the time" to fix them and get more money for them. He told me fixing the 175 is pretty straight forward, however cleaning the 125's carb is pretty involved. Also he said that if I purchased them with the intent to take them to a shop it's not worth the money, only if I can do the work myself. I've never had a trike, 4 wheeler, dirt bike or anything. I'm very mechanically inclined and I enjoy working on cars.
This deal sounds a bit shady, but I want opinions on what I should do. I checked out this site that is AWESOME....http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit.com/PartsBandit/default.asp and I found that bearings and seals are a few bucks, and brakes are like $30. Now what if i wanted to buy a whole new carb? There only like $150 plus or minus some. I just have no idea on which one. Does this sound like a good idea or should I just get the 175 itself??
Someone throw some prices at me because I'm clueless!
