That is an 85 1/2 model. Nice price for sure I can't believe no one bought it yet!

I wonder if the chassis sitting in the yard is an 86 . The red shrouds and headlight might have come from it!

LOL, not a great deal! I just ordered $200 in parts and I still need a good shock and a silencer. Both of those shocks are blown.

Your not looking at a pile of neglect in front of you either. Seriously though, it's gonna be nice again by next week. The problem is it was no great deal, the person that buys it from me after it's whipped back into shape will be the one getting a deal. No biggie, just very disapointing.

They said it was nice so i drove 3hr's for a pile of ****! so i told him what i would pay, not the winning auction price.

Well I did get a couple extra parts in compensation for what I saw, the problem is I saw even more at home when I started tearing in to her. It's not all bad, it is an 86 just with 85 plastic and it runs strong. After I rebuild the forks, change all the swingarm piviot and alxe bearings, get a good shock, find a silencer, fix some hillbilly wiring, replace a bucket of bolts, replace the fuel lines, install new pipe seals, polish the plastic, install some crush washers on the rear brake line, fix the swingarm skid plate, replace the air filter and a couple other odds and ends it will be good as new. ;)

Ya it could be worse, I was just hoping to turn a buck or two on it for the 440r project. I ordered piviot bearings and seals, axle bearings and seals, fork boots, exhaust gaskets, tires, fork seals & oil, some sweet black w/ red grips to match and found a nice silencer & rear shock too. By monday she'll be back in tip top shape. I'm also installing a nice aluminum front wheel with a silver hub to match. Ends up both sets of forks are 86.

The exhaust gaskets for the tri-z are not worth a dam, just use high temp silicone or it will still leak.
