The thought occured to me that I'd like to have my rear fender easily removable for washing with no tools. I always liked how my 200X came off as a whole unit with seat and all.
Only thing I can think of is to have tabs welded on to each bolt but am hoping someone knows of a metric bolt you can buy with this type of set up?
Other ideas?

Look at the design of the YTM200ERN when you come to my house. The 200 seat and plastic are one piece and come off as a unit.

I know the 200 is a bit different but now why didn't Yamaha do it with the 225?
Funny, the one I just bought Had no bolts in it anywhere! Only the seat held it on.
HMMMM, it was quite secure even that way so if you would secure the seat to the fender I'll bet all you'd really need is the 2 on each side of the front mud flaps!
You'd have to take seat cover off and foam, drill 4 holes at desired location, 4 thru fender and it would most likely work!
Wouldn't do it to the one I want original but the Bumble Bee I might try it?
I'll have to study this scientifly :D
Its a 225 dxn ,not a 200 X, thats why.lol

I like it when the plastic clips on too. You probably can just run a couple of bolts and have the seat hold the rest, I know with my brothers old 225 we would run it with just the seat holding on the plastic when we were still working on it (just aroundthe yard though). As for welding tabs on to bolts I don't remember how much room there is but I have put wing nuts screwed all the way on to bolts before to hold plastic on one of my mopeds

Yea, the seat really does hold it quite secure but I thought of a way to help hold it in place even more. Mark the seat base to line up exactly with the 4 holes in frame. Get bolts that are smaller in diameter then actual thread holes in frame. Now thread plastic collars on them and there you have it, the four plastic "pegs" would insert into the holes and farther hold in place but not on a downward force. The front arc of the seat I think is where it would line up with the front holes so you would have to have a collar on a slant and use longer bolts for it to be sayno.
You could always have a * shaped bracket on frame in the very front for the fender to tuck into also.
With all that and the front mud flap mounts that should be plenty sufficent.
