ill tell you what..my friend had a 200e...he tires he had were carlisle sur-traks....that thing went anywhere my other friends 660 grizzley did...mud wise...it was one bad mamo jamma...and he still could pull wheelies , do donuts, and burnies too..it was good..id get them if i was you..they fling rooster tails way up in the air

A 200es is no doubt the best mudding trike. I have owned both the 250 and the 200 and the 200 is a fair bit lighter and it floats easier. Hands down the 200es is the best mud trike ever mass produced! A 200es with some bearclaws or something similar and you wont be stopping for nothing ;)

yeah right now with knobbies i rarely get stuck, i need some new one, ill check into the sur-traks. if only i had some suspension. i like the chain drive though better than shaft. my friend has an 85 250es and it isnt as responsive as my 200e.. as for setup what should i do for mud proofing, i know someone just posted this, but what is necessary for real deep mud, nothing over the seat, and does the chain gaurd useful, because as far as i can see it will hold mud and water in it, havent bothered taking it off yet and the seal is gone.

Are mudlites good tires, and will they provide enough suspension? and i dont know im a honda man, its rare to find a yamaha up this way, my friend has a 125? tri moto rottin away in his yard without a motor, about the only one ive seen around.

if i could find one of those 225's in good shape id probably have it, but as i said they are rare around here. mostly hondas.

You can run the air pressure real low on these tires. They are six ply.Practicaly punkture proof.

Mud Lites are nice in the mud (like the name implies) but they are slightly heavier(6-ply).

Put mud lites in the back and a knobby in the front, and there will be nothing that can stop you on your 200e!

Edog, you don't take that beautiful blue 225 out in the mud do you?

I think the Honda 250sx would give a big red or any other trike a run for it's money in the mud. I can tell you from past experiences that a 250sx will go places a 4 wheeldrive quad will not go.

im lookin for somethin with good bounce to them, like the knobbys i have now, i see in dirtwheels magazine there are song chevron style tires in there with knobbys on em also, i was wondering if anyone knew how good they performed in mud.

I think that my trike could top that 250 sx.

Not that I'm biased, but I have found lately that a ATC 200s with mudlites on the rear is unstopable. I prefer a hardtail trike in the mud. My yamahauler with rear wooley boogers is damn good too, but my front tire is too big and heavy (25X12X9 Maxxis Buckshot Mudder- would be a great rear tire). Stick with a light 2 ply knobby on the front.

A Yama what? Mud Trike? NAAAA.... :D Just messing with ya Edog. Never rode one. I would say that the 200 would make since being light and all. But I had my SX in a few bog holes. My 87 BigRed went across the same hole better. Bit faster and easier. I think its because of its bigger tires and more ground clearance. Lighter is good in some conditions, but a little more weight helps it cut thru the mud and get down to something decent. Thats my 2 cents. Dont know. I have a 350X, but it hasnt ever seen any mud and prob wont as long as I own it. :D

Had both the 200 ES .. and have the SX now.

Took the ES thru some mean/nasty stuff.... it all depends on what type of mud you do.

For the watery soupy stuff the ES is best.. it does not sink as low and is nice and stable, shields you better than the SX.

The SX.. well, have not had it thru quite as much muck as the ES YET !! :P ... but i can tell you one thing.. When you get into the cement semi-dry boggy no standing water type ..... nothing beats an SX... has enough power to get things flying... alot more than the ES wich just spins itself into a rut and stops.

Alot more getup and go with the SX.. better float with the ES.. ( the SX sinks, even with my 165 carcase on it ) .

I havent tried my 200E in mud, but I was out playing with the 200 monday and got it stuck a few times. Got Wooly Boogers on it and they worked great when they were new, the big knobbie in the front prolly dont help, mabey I'll take the Big Red up there Saturday, it has some Wooly's on it to but there 13in wide and newer.

You got stuck in that ????
remeber last year in the power line "G"????that was small compared to what we were going through...

yeah ground clearance aint the best on mine so when i get stuck in ruts i have to lift the rear end up and she'll go through anything. i love trailin with sport machines because they hate the mud. they find a mud hole and try as hard as they can to stay out of it.

haha..let me take a pic out at cardonia...whoa buddy...its bad ace..on the trail back into the woods wich is all cardonia is pretty much..is a huge 50-75 foot long 4 foot deep mud hole..the 185 made it threw!! barely...anyway..if i can get out sometime when its actually muddy cause we havnt had much rain lately..ill take some pics before and after i got through it..its pretty bad! ...who says chains have no place in mud!?!! all you gotta do when your done is spray it off with a pressure washer and then spray it with wd-40 or some gear lube!! lol..works fine...and yes..200e's do float pretty easily! just make sure you have your crank case breather connected to your airbox...my firends got water in his cause it wasnt connected...bad thing to do...screwed his rings to hell...he traded it tho for a mint 75' yamaha 350 (same engine as banshee but a bit higher gear ratio) motorcyle...only 3500 miles on it!..dunno how he did it but i say its good for him..anyway..mudlightes are suppose to be the lightest mud tire on the market right now..you could get some super swampers tho! or some vampire asx's they are great..saw a 250ex go through thick mud up to his handle bars on it..that was also back in cardonia..he didnt even get stuck!

Get An SX with Nankang knobbies on it. I could out drag the 4x4s in snow and go through 2 and a half feet of mud with them. or Another good setup is a 350x with 22x11x9 GBC Gators on it.

Those Nankang Knobbies have thast bounce to them that you want to. I love jumping the SX with them on. :D

our 250es with super swampers is a bad mofo in the mud.

I've got 25x13x9" Vampires on the back of my 86 Big Red and I can go most anywhere a stock tired 4x4 can.
