I thought I would post a few pictures of the finished product.

What was done, was as follows:
Split cases, welded crack, new main bearing, new couter balancer bearings, new clutch shaft bearings, new clutch, crank retrued, checked all transmission parts.

New top end with mid porting.

Rebuilt water pump

New steering stem bearings

Replaced headlight, tail light, switches etc that were not present when I got it.

Basically I went through the whole machine and rebuilt it all. Thats easier than listing!!!

Yeah I got lucky in a sense on this one.

Next winter I will pull her back apart and powder coat the frame.

The rubber does smell, but I have not found 1" silicone based hose around here. Can you help?

Definatly a unique looking quad. I have never seen a pipe like that before. Have you always had the pipe? What is that air scoop looking thing under the hood and where did you get it. I have not seen one of those eather. Do you do a lot of woods riding?

That pipe was on the quad when I got it last fall. I inquired to PSI about it looking for some specifications and was told the pipe was made in the late 80's early 90's. They could not provide me with much else as far as info went. The pipe is in great shape beside 1 small ding and the fitting to the exhaust flange has gotten a tad sloppy. I like it cause its like nothing else I see anyone running.

The scoop is the factory front nose piece that everyone and their brother takes off and throws away. Again, I di not want to fit the typical mold so I picked 1 up(Egay) and installed it. It also offers a little more protection for the radiator fro debries and the like.

I mostly ride woods and fields. I do not have sand dunes, or MX tracks all over the place in my area. My goal was a little more performance than a stocker offered, but with as much reliability I could acheive. I have a building full of ATV's, ATC's and Dirt bikes and its hard enough just doing the basic matainance. I normally spend 2-3 days off messing around with oil changes, carb cleans, airfilter cleans, chain tightening, lubing, etc when I do the normal stuff. Needing to pull motors apart every x months is not an option that I really have time for.

Now that I think about it I don't know if I have ever seen one of those air scoops. Very rad looking.
