I've had mine in the want ad for about a month and a half easy. Only a handful of calls, half of which say "o it's a 3 wheeler i'm sorry no thanks" I'm asking $800 for my 200x, starts first kick. all it needs is a rear fender and rear breaks hooked up. everything else is in excellent condition. am i really asking too much? i paid 250 for it and put ALOT of time and money into it. basically new everything. how much should i be asking???

You should include a pic with your add if you can. What's your location anyway? That could have something to do with it.

Needs a rear fender and has no working rear brake? I wouldn't touch it for $800.

why not hook the brakes up so all they will need is the rear fenders

i know it's a little steep, but the amount of work i put into it makes it almost worth it i thought. i guess that's just in my eyes. most of these trikes have 20 year old grease and grime on them, my paint job might not be the best, but * wont find a spec of dirt on anything.

If it's in excellent shape (IF,IF,IF) and thats all it needs, it's well worth the 800!
Now if it didn't run, thats a different story but a minor thing like the rear brake not working & needing a rear fender is no big deal, to me any way.
You make it seem like the rear brake & a fender devalues it 100's of dollars.
I'd stay firm on the 800. Thats a reasonable asking price for sure.
You didn't say what year though. If it's an 86 or 7 thats actually too low, 83-5 and your right in the ballpark.

Just noticed that, what do you exactly mean by that?
Can you post some pictures?

i believe its the 83, and the paint job on the frame is what hes talking about, he spilled some gas on it and it bled a little, it wasnt powdercoated.

Good luck getting $800. I had an 86 complete, and very nice and I couldnt get $850 out of for almost a year, so I parted it out.
This may be tough to swallow, but its one of the facts of life. Your labor is valuable to you, but is of little or no value to a buyer, and as sad as it is, all your new parts and aftermarket pieces only add about half their cost to the value of a machine. In other words, the restoration you spend $4000 to do might be worth $2000 when you are finished with it.
For a 200x with no brakes or rear fender, I wouldnt go above $400-$500, and that would only be if the rest of it is in very good mechanical shape.

200S's are fetching 4-500 that need work. I just can't see a 200X being in the same price range as a 200S.
I sold both my 86 200X's for 1100 and that what years ago. Surely the value should have stayed the same or even risen some since 5-8 years ago?
Come to think of it I got 750 for my 200S. Maybe they are worth more in the PA area or I just got lucky?

Yes. It took me days of degreasing and scrubbing to get the frame totally clean. I primed and rattle canned it. I wish I would've powdercoated, but I didn't want to spend that much money on it seeing I was spending alot on parts. If I had time I'd hook up the brand new master cylinder I bought and I'd have working rear brakes. I'm real busy with work and I dont keep it where I live.
If I haven't sold it in a month I'll probably have time to fix up the brakes, maybe even rebuild the forks with the parts I already have and spend the money on a rear fender . The only thing that really bothers me is the snapped off bolt that holds the silencer on. If that was fixed I wouldn't be so discouraged on fixing it perhaps. I have no idea how to get the extractor bit i snapped off out. That's another post sorry for the ramble. :beer

Where's the rear skid plate and R grip? Whats the reddish overspray on the F caliper?
The motor looks awful "dull" . What's up with that?
