It should have a front and rear brake handle I belive. There is no clutch lever. you just let off the gas when you shift.

How do you put it in reverse???? The left lever does two things. Along with the foot brake it works the rear brake, [two cables]. and also along with the red button shifts it into reverse.

The HONDA ATC250es (Big Red) is a semi-automatic transmission, in that you don't have to pull in clutch handle (because it doesn't exist!) to shift. The left brake handle (rear brake) should also have a button on it (a red one with a white "R" on it). This is your reverse button. From the sound of things, you're missing this lever.

In order to shift into reverse on a big red, you have to shift down to N, press the red button, pull the brake lever back (while holding down the button) then kick the shift lever DOWN...now you're backwards. Up twice on the shift lever and you're back in 1st.

That lever should be relatively easy to come by, since it's the same mechanism that's used on the 4 wheeled version of HONDA ATV's today. You're gonna want to make sure you still have all the cable.
