Ok i have a leaky carb,i did a search but only found one guy with the same problems and nothing really solving it...http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=32526&highlight=leaking+carb

so i'm wondering what parts would i have to change to fix this problem..

your float valve could be sticking open. Only thing i can think of.

try taking it off, soaking it overnight, and then putting a new carb kit in.

My 82 200 did that... simple enough.

either 1 or 2.

1- Someone opened the carb and messed up the bowl height.. needs proper adjusting

2- The carb has never been opened.. and bowl never touched, dirty and not seating correctly letting gas thru..

ok sounds easy enough to fix,how do i adjust the bowl height?Thing i hate is everytime i fart around with carbs it takes forever to get them running properly again..

theres a tang on the float that you can bend to make it higher and lower

Ok update..i cleaned the carb and reassembled it...fired right up no leak...go out for a 2hour ride and come home change the oil and adjust the clutch and left the petcock turned to "ON" soon noticed another gas leak,it's just a slight drip...so as bigredhead said the float probally needs adjusting cause judging by the screws on the carb bowl it's definatly been open before....what should i try now....i noticed my needle and seat is worn would this cause the gas to leak when it's not running by not seating proper???I'm hoping the needle and seat will fix the idle proble i been having..

Check with milligan's, he carries carb rebuild kits ( after ordering mine from www.mfgsupply.com ) i found out he can get them.. for about 20 $ or so.

Comes with gaskets, jets, seat, needle, clip , etc......

If you're only gettin a slight drip.. i would'nt worry about it for now.. just shut off the petcock a minute before you get home and but a bit of gas out the carb.. you'll be fine.

If it's causing it to flood and making it hard to start.. then sure, get it done.. but otherwise.. i say RIDE ON !
