well just from studying this pic for the last few minutes i'm positive mine is a 200 now the 225's had 2 raer shocks and the drive shaft throught the middle this has the 1 sock and the drivesahft to the side, reminds same as a 225 trike.....so i'm pretty sure it's a 200....only thing is it has no hi/lo range just 5 gears and reverse........

Is there any yamaha guru's out there that can help!!!

I dont think yamaha made a 225cc four wheeler back then just the 200cc I believe. the pics of the ones up top are factory made four wheelers not conversions. I remember last week looking at a post wondering if they were factory or conversions.

That's a Moto 4, 200 I'm sure... look on the base of the Left side of the cylinder jug. Should have some "cc" writen on it. Ironically, the 225DX is 223cc and the Timberwolf 250 is 229cc. Haven't looked on any of my 200's yet....

I think the Yammi 200's are 196cc. To adjust the float you need to take a clear piece of tube, connect it to the drain hold the other end up next to the carb. Start the machine and let it idle, open the drain screw so that way the tube fills with gas. Keep holding it up. After a few minutes, mark on the carb body the level the gas in the tube holds at. This is your fuel height. Measure the distance between that mark and the top of the float bowl assembly. I don't remember what that distance is suppose to be off the top of my head, but that's how it is done. You then adjust the tang on the float until that measure distance is within range. You can tell this is a pain and don't do it unless you are sure that it needs to be done ie: fuel pours of out the carb overflow and you are sure the float valve works.

Ok i looked at the engine and can't find the CC's marking,i'm going to snap pics finally within the next hour.....I'm gonna open up the carb and see what it looks like in there and then i'll be able to determine if the float needs adjusting or replacing...So as for the clear tubing do you mean just like a clear gas line???

The YFM 200 is nothting more than an unsrpung YTM 200 chassis that Yamaha made into a quad and named the Moto4.

In 1986 the YFM was dropped from the title and given to the YFM Moto4 225 that was later to become the big bear (I know because I have one.)

The two Moto4 Models of 1986 were the YFM Moto4 and the Moto4. The 1986 Moto4 was a YTM converted to a quad with front and rear suspension.

If any one doubts what I just said you can easily look it up on any parts finder. The 1986 block will show a YFM moto4 and a Moto4. I have had all the above mentioned rides at one time or another.

By the way, there was also a Moto4 with an 80CC engine for kids.

For the carb, yes any clear tubing works, plastic, PVC, whatever. just make sure it can take the gas.

Ok i was doing some work on the 4wheeler today cleaned the carb and changed the oil etc,and as i was looking at the engine with my trouble light ,hidden behind the starter handle and the linkage for the reverse under the very botton cooling fin there was the "CC" marking 196cm so it's a 200......now i won't be so confused ordering parts...

Well i got some more work done to the moto4,it was ticking and i adjusted the valves and the engine is really quiet now,i took it for a rip around the yard it works amazing,it even starts with half a pull now ....also i had a blown shock on the front and it kept bottoming out, well i got a set of adjustable shocks tonight for $20 from a friend and there way more heavy duty bigger coils and they don't bottom out plus i gained over an inch clearance...now just to get the 4 new tires and carb parts wednesday....here some pics of the new shocks and a before and after front end snap...

And the new shocks with the extra clearance...This is gonna make a huge difference when the new tires go on..

I still think you should have gone with the moose kit and save a crapload of cash

rob0781
05-27-2005, 02:45 PM
I wanted the moose kit and no one carried it for that bike.I'm limited to where i get parts has to be here in town unless they accept M/O cause all my cards are maxed out at the moment..i got the needle seet now i just need the jet needle and seet and that should due....

On another note does the seet the needle sits in just push out?there no threads on it just a o-ring..
