I was wondering if someone could tell me where the top breather tube is supposed to hook up to. I got a used 200 x and there is one breather tube off the engine that ends with a one way rubber valve. I see in other people's pics that the breather tube should come off the engine and split, one end going down with the rubber valve and the other end going upwards. I want to know where that upper one attachs. i can't find any hole for a hose to attach to. should it hook up to the airbox or somewhere on the frame or somewhere else? Thanks. :beer

if you are talking about the crankcase breather I wouldn't worry about all the lines and the little breather vents, they get old and dry rot and no longer work like they are supposed to. go to jlatv.com and get a K&N crankcase breather, they are like 25 to 30 dollars and do a way better job than the original breather vents do.

can someone tell us were the hoses get hooked to on the 200x. Mine is like t-shaped? I now one goes to the vent on the motor but...?

There is also a little vent on the bottom of the aibox. Does another end hook to that?

First off, What do other people think about putting an aftermarket crankcase breather (like one from K&S) on a wheeler? Secondly, I am interested where the top breather tube hooks up to. To be more specific I shall make references to BikeBandit.com's air cleaner schematic. I want to know where the top part of tube/Part 22 hooks up to. My wheeler has a tube/part 21 coming off then engine and ends with part 27 and 19 - Thats all. it does not have the T joint or other hoses. I am looking to get the proper set up. If I did get the proper set up I was wondering where tube (part 22) hooks up to? Thanks.

I don't think your link to the page worked. This is what your talking about right?

#21,22 and 23?

my 85 200x use to have the factory set up and on the end of hose 22 it has the same style breather vent that is on the bottom of the air box. I took my system off cuz it got dry rotted, the breather vents dry rotted and warped and some how by the wrath of nature and my back tires let a small rock get inside the case and jammed my oil pump and smoked my motor. that's why I went to the K&N case filter and recommend it to others, unless you are doing a factory resto and at that point, all power to ya on the resto.

I know this thread is a couple years old but I actually have the same question. I have the OEM breather (in good shape) but I cant figure out where it goes. Does anyone have any info?? Pics would be really helpful.

Thanks a million!!!!

The best setup would be to evacuate the crankcase in some way. There are two ways of doing this easily. One is using the exhaust flow to actually suck the vapors out of the crankcase and then the other is to use engine vacuum to do it. If you've ever pulled the dip stick while your engine is runnin you've probably noticed how much air is coming out. My engine has a fresh topend and is seated in good and I still get some crank case pressure. Well when the piston comes down it has to compress that air in the crankcase as it comes down and that just causes a parasitic loss. I know its apples to oranges but on my truck I run dual PCV valves and there is actually vacuum on the crankcase at idle anytime there is high vacuum. Another plus is that it makes any little seeps or leaks dry up almost instantly.

there should be a holder on the left side of frame right before the airbox.

I`m pretty sure it just ends up under the frame. Thats how it breaths the other end is for oil residue to drip down if there is any that has that little valve thing that points down

Perfect, thats what I was looking for. So the top part of the breather does not hook up to anything.
Thanks for all the info
