Kx80 help?!

Well I got a 94 kx80 big wheel frame, and i dropped my 87 engine in it and because the old 87 ignition generator was crap, I tried to rig up the 94 ignition, and its all connected and I am getting no spark, and I dont really have the money to buy a new coil and ignition generator for this thing, so I need help. I dont know what could be causing it to not spark. Also, if anyone has a used 87 kx80 coil and ignition generator that they want to part with that would be great. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I used the 87 ignition generator and it fired up, now i just need a master link and some wire connectors and im good to go.
