I'm trying to take the cam chain cover off the ytm200.
The bolt on the right came out, but the one on the left is stuck
It's a phillips and thats stripped out, I slotted it with a dremel so I could put a flat in there, that worked (its not stripping out the head) but the bolt still won't budge.
I've also doused it with WD-40.
I don't want to use an impact driver because I think that would crack the head or wreck something.
I was wondering if I heated it up with a little butane torch if that would work.
I need other ideas....
thanks

hit it with the impact .... if that doesnt work then I dont think much more would.. and it it breaks well it would of anyways... Once it breaks then snap the other side off and remove the cover and then deal with the bit of stud that is left sticking out...
Those are my thoughts.

If the flat works use a flat with a ah crap,,my mind went so blank...socket socket socket thats it. if that dont work dremmel the head off.

if i dremeled the head off, i would have to drill the rest of the bolt out and retap, right?
I tried putting the flat in a socket, but you have to put so much pressure on it to keep it from coming out.
Maybe if I tried an impact wrench...

impact with flat your gonna fly. flat and impact not a good suggestion. you take just the head, the stud of the bolt remains, when you pull the cover.

is the whole stud threaded ?
if it is.. removing the head won't help much.
othwise.. yes.. then grab the stud with vice grips and out she goes.

i got it now, i just started cutting the head off, got about half way, then broke the cut off wheel, so i tried with the screwdriver again and it came right out, ill have to get a new bolt now.

ok, now ive got to the two cylinder head bolts that are just under the cam sprocket, these are reeeeealy tight. I see there only supposed to be torqued to less than 20ft/lbs. I pulled as hard as I could, and it still wont budge, any tricks for this one?
